Today I am dutifully learning how 1 in 3 trans people have attempted suicide from a "recent" 2007 study by Whittle.

Is this the regulatory capture of the NHS staff using one study as a headline for such a complex phenomenon such as suicide?

Is 2007 considered recent in terms of surveys? Does that link in with the debunked stats from the Stonewall?

Most of those questions relate to sex, not gender. And if I had to do that ‘training’, I would be searching for studies and statistics that contradicted that claim so I could make a formal complaint. But I’m a bit of a bitch like that.

Some very interesting demographics of survey respondents in that Whittle study, if it is the same one.
Predominantly white, skews towards middle decades, higher proportion of educational attainment/professional/managerial roles than UK average, and >70% male-born respondents. A significant number of whom seem to be transvestites.

October 2018 Stephen Whittle wrote on one of the FWR threads challenging his irresponsible use of suicide,

"In hindsight I should not have said that but the Samaritan's guidelines never cross my mind."

Whittle had to go away & read about Samaritans' long-established good practice.
