I'd be interested to know that. On Twitter some people were speculating that the tall thin dark person there was Cathy Brennan, who was accused of assaulting Julie Bindel.

Can we put that name in quotation marks ("Cathy Brennan"), as the person who uses that name in Scotland, has taken it deliberately as a bullying tactic against the US feminist Cathy Brennan. The Scottish person deliberately goads the real Cathy Brennan, and uses her own name to bully Ms Brennan. The Scottish "Cathy Brennan" seems to be a pretty nasty piece of work, motivated by misogynist violence against women.

Someone told me the kids were students from Edinburgh Uni. For the umpteenth time, I've been very glad my DDs are hurtling into their late 20s and were through uni before all this hit. If that bloke is really on the uni staff I'd not want my kids anywhere near him (people can start uni at 17 in Scotland and many do).

It used to be possible and may still be possible to go at 16. As entry requirements for many courses require 5 or 6 Highers in one sitting many Scottish students will have attained their qualifications at the end of 5th year (and 6th year is just a faffing around waste of time)

Most pupils will be 17 but it is possible to be 16. There were several 16 year olds in my hall of residence. Personally I don't particularly subscribe to the MN convention that everyone under 18 or even in extreme cases, 21 is a child.

These kids were very young even the body language. There was one who struck me as about 16-17 who stood at the front with purly toes and kept balancing on the outside of her feet the way young kids do.

I hope these kids at least heard the seed on an idea which resonated with them when the looked at the women there, who could have been their mums, aunties or grannies.

I hope that one day they will realise that we were there to protect them.

Don't think that was "Cathy". Didn't look tall enough? I wasn't close though. That individual was heard to shout "I'm a woman too, you cunt" at one of speakers. So ladylike! So calculated to allay fears!

Beardy was seriously creepy, leading those young kids like the pied piper.

I was there and noticed the incongruousness of the older man leading the group of teenagers straight away - I'd like to know who he was.

He didn't look like someone who was genuinely concerned about a supposed human rights cause. He was grinning away and shouting gleefully into a megaphone when women were speaking at the rally.

They were all so young. The transmen had short hair, and the trans women had red lipstick on. So progressive and patriarchy-smashing.
