Ranging from Munroe Bergdorf to Sadiq Khan.

British Glamour is a women's magazine.

And this is to celebrate International Women's Day.

Andy Murray is a decent guy, which is great, everyone likes a decent guy but feminist icon?

It think they do this just to troll the readers and stir up interest.

This year's IWD was all about the blokes.
Shows yoy how quickly we're travelling backwards in terms of acknowledgement of women, and women's rights.

That's 9 feminist icons who were not acknowledged. I mean, British Glamour, who cares, but the principle...

IWD has been colonised by the oppressor class, imo. Not to mention the corporate class. It's just another sales opportunity.

Apart from the rest of it, why would Sadiq Khan be a feminist icon? If I wanted to pick out men that have done a lot for women or feminism in some way, I wouldn't even think of him.

Noticed JK Rowling wasn't on their list, I wonder why? Hmm

This round up of the institutional capture that has overtaken the official IWD celebrations made me wonder if we shouldn't take a leaf out of the oppositions playbook, and grant ourselves a plethora of special days.

We could start by celebrating Adult human female day on 8th April, genderfree women's day on 8th May, XX chromosome holders day on 8th June, international large gamete producers day on 8th July, National Radical Feminist appreciation day on 8th August and an entire month dedicated to the biological female victims of biological male violence all through September.

We could demand that the police and NHS wear special lanyards in suffragette colours, and set up a few charities suck in massive grants that we could use to lobby politicians, draw up special guidelines for the judiciary and press, and have schools and businesses pay us to come in and educate them.

Thanks for that link StealthSquirrelNutkin. I've shared it on my FB, alongside Julie Bindel's Telegraph article, and had one "like" from someone who hasn't engaged previously. Hoping that some of my friends read it and start to think more about it. I gave up volunteering for our local IWD events a couple of years ago - I couldn't do it in good faith anymore.
