Girls' Friendly Society: GC?

They quote this on their FAQ page: girlsfriendlysociety.org.uk/what-we-do/faqs/

Studies have shown that accessing single-sex space is important for girls and young women. A review by YWCA and Girlguiding UK found that girls and young women were enthusiastic about having time away from boys. They also found that single-sex spaces encouraged girls to take more risks, express themselves and develop their self-confidence. In mixed gender settings, boys tended to dominate the space which reduced girls’ confidence. A single-sex environment also helps girls and young women to think about and challenge gender stereotypes.

Are they genuinely single-sex (not gender)?

Girl Guiding now accepts boys and men, no longer single-sex.

Sorry, I didn't mean to post so soon. GG changed their policy a couple of years ago resulting in a couple of leaders who expressed safe-guarding concerns being 'sacked'. They are TWAW. Their policy also states that parents do not have to be informed if a boy or man (TW leader) is to share private spaces (changing rooms, dorms) with girls.

I don't have much time right now, but I'm sure there'll be lots of conversations about this around these parts.. also was covered in mainstream media.
Could be worth challenging that FAQ? It might have been written prior to the GG policy change.

The GFS don't have any affiliation to the GG organisation. I was wondering about whether the GFS was genuinely single-sex. A girl I know from work would like to attend, but her family are very unlikely to allow her to, especially if they are not single sex.

To be honest I suspect the GFS's Anglican Church origins are likely to put her family off anyway.

This sounds single sex to me.. use of sex not gender throughout all I've read. Despite the origins it looks like they're not with the church now op. I had a look at the group's to see if there is one near me (sadly not) and it says that any with a religious element will have an asterisk by their name.

If they are truly single sex, they sound like a great alternative to GG.

If that's the case, that is brilliant. I was really disappointed in the GG's change in tune a few years ago.
