I think I may be trans-conservative, converted by the wonderful Jackie Doyle-Price
She was measured, clear, firm and fair. And 100% GC. I watched the whole debate (many thanks to the MNer who flagged the start). Joanna Cherry was great - and brave - too.
So much of what the Labour MPs said was great but...with the nagging suspicion that when they said ‘women’ they didn’t mean it biologically... it made it really hard to trust their comments. Although of course Jess Phillips’ name role call was moving.
And personally I had to tune out of Maria Miller’s ‘ let’s celebrate the menz too’ comments - perhaps she had more of substance to say after that, I couldn’t listen.
It’s a shame more parliamentary debates can’t be that civilised.
