Seeking Legal Advice/Support

Hello,
I would summarise my case as being married to the wrong guy... I suffered from emotional and financial abuse who was leading to a start of physical abuse. I had to stop it there and involved police/domestic violence, etc. Now, his lawyer is harassing me to respond to their letter (sent by email), I am accused of damaging his life and denying contact with his daughter.
I was advised to apply for a child arrangement court order. I am not eligible of legal aid even though it is classified domestic violence case. I have been looking for pro-bono solicitors to help me with my court process and proceedings... I couldn't find any.
Any advice? I am desperate...

  • and there's this one, too. Sorry I can't help, OP, hopefully these links might be of use. Women's Aid, also?

Hi, this sounds terrible. Try this firm. Their family law dept helps people all over the country. They’ve helped me twice in relation to very challenging adoption matters. My memory is that the initial consultation ( in person or by phone or Skype) is free. I’m sure they’ll be able to advise you where to seek further help even if they can’t give you pro bono help.
Very best of luck

Yes. There's an organisation called Advocate. You have to be referred to them by another service such as the CABx.

You can find more info here.

Thank you so much for your support and all these links are useful. I am now in court using the support through court free service to help me fill in my application... after this, I will go to CAB hopefully they will refer me to the advocate for pro-bono support... I am so desperate that I am following any and every lead for help and assistance...

There is a legal advice section on Mumsnet. There are some very knowledgeable posters, perhaps ask the kids to move this over there?

Best of luck!
