Anyone else currently striking with UCU but reconsidering their position?

I'm an academic on strike. But seriously considering leaving UCU and going back to work, on the basis of the response to no-platforming of Selina Todd (and, to be frank, so serious general fuckwittery of UCU in relation to identity politics).

Anyone else in a similar position?

i decided enough was enough and left today. While they fail to protect women, they can't have my money. Will find a new union to join.

Look who's popped up on the Guardian letters page - you might think she had something better to do with her time at the moment than write straw man responses to a brilliant article.

Having read that letter I think it’s interesting how ‘trans people’ tends to be used when what is really meant is ‘trans women’. Clever person on twitter recently observed that almost all demands of this movement tend to benefit the latter.

UCU member. I won't be breaking the strike. In terms of my priorities, the most immediate and urgent is that a culture of micromanagement and widescale abuse, bullying and over-workplanning people to breaking point is a disupte we simply cannot afford to lose.

But I'm disappointed in Jo Grady and even more disappointed with the 'no platforming' stance being actively endorsed by UCU. The word 'solidarity' is ringing particularly hollowly in my ears right now, not least because of the Union's alleged stance on the gender paygap, sexual discrimination, sexual harrassment, and other similar issues affecting women. (It's the more disconcerting because I've had UCU's wholehearted support on the discrimination and harrassment issue on a direct and personal level).

I'll consider this seriously once this round of strikes is over.
