A win against wokeness Female toilets!

The Telegraph reports that the government will guarantee sex segregated toilets in public buildings. It quotes Lord Lucas and describes resistance from peers at the insidious, advance of 'gender neutral ' toilets at the behest of a niche lobby. Lord Lucas gives a robust defence of women's rights to privacy and it is good to see the government seems aware of the conflict of rights and is actually defending what should be the default Conservative position.

“^The Government is committed to maintaining safeguards that protect women. Proper provision of separate toilets for both men and for women, which has long been a regulatory requirement, should be retained and improved.”Earlier this week, Lord Lucas, a Conservative hereditary peer, said of the trend for gender-neutral lavatories: “Women do not want to wash bloody underwear in front of men. What is the justification for making women feel unsafe where now they feel safe?”
Welcoming the rethink this weekend, the peer told The Daily Telegraph: “I am delighted that the Government is to make sure that public buildings provide properly safe spaces for women.
“I hope that they will also make sure that there are enough such spaces to meet demand – or at least to provide for women’s needs equally with men’s.”^

I am really pleased to see this.

There are so many areas where women’s rights have been pushed back over the last ten years, and it is now a case of winning them back all over again.

There are so many areas where women’s rights have been pushed back over the last ten years, and it is now a case of winning them back all over again.

The dismal antics of Rebecca LB et al and their enthusiastic embrace of Stalinist pledges and purges has highlighted the bankruptcy of this agenda. It is about time the Conservatives robustly defended freedom of speech, sex segregated spaces. They need to understand the threat to women's rights and children's safety.

Excellent.

I was on a work trip where all this was unavoidable. I could not find a toilet to piss in that hadn't been pissed on by some clunking big bloke - and I HATED washing my hands with men in the room. I have never been (or, rather, not yet been) raped and so I have no personal history to cite as reason why I need a single sex space to get my bare butt out. It's just my choice. And, that is, apparently, has not been enough.

This is great news. Also nice to know that women can campaign on something for years and get told they're silly and hysterical but when a male Lord says it then the government takes it seriously. Haven't we come a long way...!

Agree.

It's depressing, a bit like Glinner gets engagement about these things, but, I don't.

Penises are the best form of communication.

Well, that's good, but I can't say I have ever washed bloody undies in a public toilet! How weird.
It hugely irritates me that women apparently need graphic or intimate REASONS for saying we want women's toilets. Why do we need to justify it with "scared of rape" or "perimenopausal flooding"? All we are saying is that we wish to keep what we already have!
