I think they've taken the paywall down, temporarily at least. This link - National worked for me.

The National? Isn’t that an SNP propaganda rag? Surely their view would be all “progressive woke throwing women under the trans bus”, no?

Strangely the national has been opposed to the GRA reforms and have published a good few articles on protecting women's spaces and rights.
They are very pro independence though and that usually goes hand in hand with supporting the SNP but there have been a few critical articles of late

The snp, like the Labour Party, appears to have been ‘captured’ by tra with an aggressive agenda, which is mostly at odds with not only a large swathe of its membership, but also, and more importantly, voters.
The National seems to get that.
It was set up after the 2014 referendum, because the printed media in Scotland an rUK was seen as very much opposed to independence. As a Scot who started out as a no voter, but moved to yes over the course of the campaign, I welcomed another perspective. It’s news coverage can be lacking in depth, but it has lots of journalists and commentators who are often worth a read.
