I didn’t catch the start to know exactly who you are, but I know you must be on here somewhere. You rock, sister. Thankyou for speaking up. And it sounds like Shelagh Fogarty gets it.

Oh think it’s Lucy Masoud Grin

Heard the whole thing, Lucy was fantastic!

Catting · 20/02/2020 14:56

Loved Lisa Fogarty too, who said, unapologetically, that trans were separate from women, and that's not a controversial thing to say!

I think this is it. I think the wheels are coming off the trans bandwagon.

Binterested · 20/02/2020 15:00

I didn’t hear it but yes Shelagh Fogarty gets it (been doing a slightly weird forensic trawl through some Twitter accounts and she gets it. As does Katie Martin who writes for the FT.

I’m actually waiting for the day the FT cover this properly. The Wall St Journal have broken cover with the excellent piece about sex not being a spectrum and it’s time for the FT to catch up. There’s a massive business angle because of all the corporate money going into the diversity agenda that somehow ends up promoting straight white men Hmm

Imnobody4 · 20/02/2020 16:27

Just listened to this. Lucy was superb, clear, passionate, unstoppable. Shelagh Fogarty also good. The male caller in the discussion was completely outclassed.

MaMaLa321 · 20/02/2020 16:31

I agree about the FT

64sNewName · 20/02/2020 16:33

Is this something we can listen to online by any chance? Actually don’t worry, I’ll google it. But hooray

frazzled1 · 20/02/2020 17:07

www.globalplayer.com/catchup/lbc/uk/b8FPhBM/

Around 40mins in.

Lucy Masoud outstanding on Labour's obsession with identity politics, totally outclassed Matt.
Science is not transphobic. . Grin

Agree Shelagh Fogarty gets it:
Violence against women can very much depend on the access certain men have to them.
Transwomen are separate to women.

Floisme · 20/02/2020 17:10

I didn't hear it but I remember Lucy Masoud was great on Radio 4 (I think?) about a year or so ago.

RubyViolet · 20/02/2020 17:26

Lucy was outstanding in putting her message across, Shelagh totally gets it.

AutumnCrow · 20/02/2020 17:47

Thanks, just listened.

334bu · 20/02/2020 17:52

Wow well done Lucy.

Cwenthryth · 20/02/2020 17:53

It’s worth listening from the start of the hour, if you’re interested in the Labour Party’s loss generally etc

OP posts:
Lollygaggles · 20/02/2020 17:57

Yes, very good. Thanks for the link Smile

AutumnCrow · 20/02/2020 17:57

Having listened to this and The Moral Maze, I am pleased to see interviewers / panellists etc using a technique that they could and should have employed ages ago, which is to make a perfectly scientifically correct or legally reasonable statement and then ask, 'Is that "transphobic"?'

In other words, 'What are the fucking rules here, dude? Can you please tell millions of listeners on mainstream radio, cheers.'

You can sense the rowing-back, the awkwardness, the self-entanglement of those directly asked.

Catting · 20/02/2020 18:03

Ugh, wasn't Michael Pmcalled 'not relevant' for not thinking men can be women? Jane Fae said it, as thee was too afraid to say MP was transphobic!

(I'm using thee now, ryhyms with he or she)

niceberg · 20/02/2020 18:03

That's cheered me up no end.

"Science is not transphobic."
"Trans women are separate to women in the way that men are separate to women."

Like a rush of blood to the head!

nonsenceagain · 20/02/2020 18:04

Thanks for the link. Lucy was magnificent. The other caller was hopeless of course because there's no logic to his position. That was really cheering.

Catting · 20/02/2020 18:05

Sorry, I was talking about moral maze as mentioned just before I commented!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 20/02/2020 18:08

Lucy is brilliant, her speech at the first WPUK meeting in London in early 2018 was so inspiring.

MrsSnippyPants · 20/02/2020 18:09

Wow Lucy is just great on this and finally Shelagh comes out!

terryleather · 20/02/2020 18:14

Excellent work Lucy and Shelagh!!!

Languishingfemale · 20/02/2020 18:20

Just listened and Lucy was superb. Clear, to the point and so articulate. Hoe we hear more from her.

DeRigueurMortis · 20/02/2020 18:22

Lucy 👏👏👏👏

And I think it's fair to say Shelagh pinned the colour to the mast (and they are purple, white and green).

Keep pulling........

PegasusReturns · 20/02/2020 18:26

Lucy was amazing.

She totally outclassed poor Matt who quite plainly doesn’t believe TWAW but parrots it as “the right thing to do”.
