Risk of suicide as a reason

I was thinking about the frequently quoted high suicide rate as a reason why transwomen need to be in women's spaces and I wondered what suicide rates were like for women in prison. I had a look and found this article in the Independent from a couple of years ago:
www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/female-prisoners-suicide-death-rate-mental-health-nearly-half-attempt-figures-reveal-prison-reform-a7724171.html

Seems like they're pretty bloody high. Surely then the risk of these vulnerable women in prison committing suicide is a reason why they need their spaces to remain single sex and not have to deal with the added stress of having male bodies to deal with on top of everything else they have to face.

Ok truth is - these are ‘just women’ (and naughty criminals too).

You won’t get actors and rock stars donating funds or coffee shop chains selling cookies for them. You won’t get Dewey eyes students standing on protests with banners screaming for their rights.

They are the ‘wrong type’ of women.

They are the ‘wrong type’ of women
Cos the only right type of women, is Male.

Lordfrontpaw · 19/02/2020 18:44

Oh now I didn’t say that. [Whistles]

Bananabixfloof · 19/02/2020 18:46

I'm expecting a deletion Lord.
🤷‍♀️

Lordfrontpaw · 19/02/2020 18:48

Yeah - there are ‘bad sorts’ in these ‘ere parts tonight...

Lordfrontpaw · 20/02/2020 08:47

Female prisoners don’t count:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3550744-Murderer-serving-at-least-46-years-transferred-to-womens-prison

Without clicking - quick quiz. Guess what the transferred prisoner did next when they got to womans jail? (There are no prizes).

wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 20/02/2020 08:49

Ooh let me guess - they raped a woman who was then accused of transphobia for mentioning something that would get us deleted on here?

Do I win a prize?

Lordfrontpaw · 20/02/2020 08:54

Bingo! But apparently she wanted to have sexual with them and get roughed up - then was so embarrassed they pretended it was rape. She is now suing...

wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 20/02/2020 09:08

Oh, the old 'rough sex' defence. FFS.

Lordfrontpaw · 20/02/2020 09:10

Of course. That old chestnut. You really can’t believe a prisoner can you? They will lie and lie to get what they want and have not moral compass whatsoever. They really can’t be trusted to tell the truth and can be driven by selfish desires to get what they want, no matter who they have to hurt/kill to get there...

Unless they're trans lordfrontpaw. The alleged assailant's allegations of multiple sexual assaults was cited as a reason why they needed to be moved to a women's prison (in an article which neglected to mention the murder of their male cellmate). So those sexual assault allegations are credible, whereas women's allegations aren't.

Sorry for double post

Lordfrontpaw · 20/02/2020 09:35

No - it’s the women that lie, surely.

RoyalCorgi · 20/02/2020 09:35

They are the ‘wrong type’ of women.

Sadly this is true. Why don't people like Lisa Nandy and the rest of the virtue-signalling so-called feminists care about the rights of female prisoners? Because they know they'll never be in prison themselves. And they know prisoners' rights aren't a vote winner.

Female prisoners are one of the most vulnerable groups in society. They are generally impoverished, half mental health problems, are in abusive relationships and suffer from drug addiction. Half of them have brain damage from domestic abuse. But who is watching out for them? Who wants to make things better for them? Certainly not Nandy - who is obsessed with the one trans child in her constituency - nor Dawn Butler, nor any of the rest of them. And if you can't rely on the Labour Party to stand up for vulnerable women, then who, frankly, can you rely on?

Lordfrontpaw · 20/02/2020 09:35

I think the site is going a bit bonkers just now (paranoid, me?)

Lordfrontpaw · 20/02/2020 09:35

Is it just me or is the site weird today?

wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 20/02/2020 09:43

The site is weird. It just told me I had no TIO.

Lordfrontpaw · 20/02/2020 09:47

Me too - I thought I was in the merde again.

64sNewName · 20/02/2020 09:50

It’s ok, it’s just weird site stuff. Recent update, they’re sorting

64sNewName · 20/02/2020 09:52

But on topic: I get so wound up by the manipulative suicide statistics we frequently see mentioned - but I never seem to be ready with a succinct rebuttal although I know they’re misrepresented, and I’ve got to work on that. So that’s why I clicked. But will look at your link after fortifying myself with coffee

Lordfrontpaw · 20/02/2020 09:56

Better make that a carajillo
