Call me stupid but how is this even possible in 2020. The link is from my local newspaper and I'm actually fuming, a shining example of old white men excluding females.

Possibly the only upside of the potential self ID act is that women will legally be able to identify as men and presumably get into clubs like this.

On the contrary, Bezalelle, it is firmly established that certain clubs accept transwomen and ban transmen. Freemasons, for example. And transmen were specifically barred from inheriting titles ahead of their younger brothers.

I don't think it's necessarily a problem if there's a single sex club, provided that there's similar provision for a club of the opposite sex if there's any demand for it. In this particular case, chances are that most people will be happier with a mixed sex club but that's not always the case. Male voice choirs, women-only book clubs for instance.

The women are apparently allowed to buy drinks from the clubhouse, they are then told to wait outside for the men folk.
