I have read this twice and may have missed it but can see no mention on GRA consultation. Which seems a bit strange given that the LGBT "Leadership" make it seem like they see if as a priority!

"A society where discimination based on sexuality and gender identity is both illegal and intolerable."

Then she crawls up Stonewall's arse, and commits to fight conversion therapy:

"The techniques employed by people who promote these practices are quite frightening and have very tragic consequences in many cases."

In the healthcare system, our new National Adviser on LGBT Health, Dr. Michael Brady, has been making great strides in the ten short months that he has been in the post.

He has worked across the NHS, bringing NHS staff and LGBT sector bodies together, discussing cancer care, maternity, and the benefits of personalised care programmes. All while driving forward on improving sexual and gender identity monitoring to make healthcare systems and professionals more responsive to LGBT patients. He has even charmed the Women and Equalities Select Committee.

That final sentence is ghastly. Was the Baroness imagining that the Women and Equalities Select Committee was somehow impervious to male charm? Or is it an acknowledgement that women are being expected to budge up and cede rights on behalf of all women and without due consideration or consultation?

Surely transing kids is the biggest conversion therapy going

yuk - I didn't register that bit about "charming" the Women and Equalities Select Committee.

Hardly a ringing endorsement of the ability of MPs to sit on committees as professional to scrutinise propsed and past laws, and the impact of how they work in practice.

Closely followed by telling lesbians they must work on getting over their silly aversion to sex with penis and male bodies.

All of you today represent the leaders and champions of the LGBT Community
Was LGB Alliance there?
I'm really sick of this, these are inherently undemocratic lobby groups who represent no one but themselves. Community is one of those terms that raises my hackles now when I here it.
Nice to know the W&E committee are a bunch of lightweights. Will we be told Google has charmed the Finance Committee.
Really can't stand this woman.

Extract from the speech,
This summit seeks to expand on that way of working, by bringing together the leaders and trailblazers of the LGBT sector all in one place. Today, LGBT Foundation, Stonewall, and Consortium, will host workshops on Leadership and Representation, Effective Voice and Lobbying, and Organisational Sustainability. Through these workshops we hope to stimulate new thinking on how not only to enhance your organisation’s ambition, but also its ability to reach it. We hope that this summit will lead to new collaborations and new partnerships between like-minded groups, that amplify your message and impact, and to see the sector as a resource unto itself.

Wasnt this a Government Summit?
Westminster is not only hosting but promoting lobbyists who have guided public policy & enabling them to replicate.
