Haven't seen this posted anywhere but... ugh! Don't know what to say really...

Funny how they describe them as a woman in a suit and man in a wedding dress... did they just assume the gender of some emojis. Is that a cyber hate crime?

I just don't get the moustaches in wedding dresses one. Or the mullets in suits. I agree - where is the demand?

What's the big deal about a man in a dress? A man can wear a wedding dress if he wants! And many women wear suits to weddings! I legit don't know what the deal is with your outcry!

I know the consortium were lobbied for various female emojis a year or two ago relating to menstruation but refused to approve them.

Isn't that the proposed uterus emoji that was denied? Because yanno, only a few billion of us have uteruses so it's not so important.

@Barracker - there's no penis emoji though, unless you count the aubergine that is 😂 I do see where you're coming from with tampon emojis. What's the problem with a man in a wedding dress though? Men are allowed to wear dresses - in an ideal world we wouldn't even bat an eyelid at it!

The issue is that there is a nose, an ear, a lung, an anatomical heart emoji. None of which I imagine was lobbied for as enthusiastically as the uterus, which lets face it, is regulated and legislated and regularly menstruated far more than a penis (or ear, or lung). And was actively requested, by large numbers of people. But denied.

There's no issue with a man in a wedding dress per se, but are you suggesting there's a greater demand for that than for the apparently unacceptable uterus?

I find it interesting that these emojis have been designed and are available. And wondered what others think.

Of course a man can wear a wedding dress but how often is someone going to require an emoji of a guy with a moustache wearing a white veil? I'm guessing not that often.

Mumsnet have had a gender neutral Santa for ages! Round yellow faces have no sex and anyone can wear a Santa hat.
