Someone from Momentum just rang me to ask if I will be voting for Rebecca Long Bailey in the leadership elections. I said I am unsure as I disagree with her stance on self-ID - she has said that transwomen are women and she is pro self-ID.

The person on the phone then told me she agrees with RLB, she has many trans friends, they should he allowed to be their true selves, and sounded shocked and said it was incredibly unlikely this would be abused. She hadn't heard of AGP and clearly thought I was old and bigoted - she thought I was talking about non-binary. She was then offended when I asked her if she was very young (she was).

Not the best unsolicited phone call to receive! She did tell me that RLB is pro abortion - I had been under the impression that her religion meant she was against them (unsure of details or where I read it though). I hope that is true.

Did they send you one of those ballots that only had her name on?

Meanwhile the Tories are feigning luke warm support for women's sexed based protections whilst sitting back and letting the police, Stonewall and the CPS simply make "the law" up, off the top of their heads then go around enforcing it in schools, prisons, hospitals and anywhere else women and children might be particularly vulnerable.

I am not sure why Momentum rang me, I used to get texts from them last year too, so I must be on a list. I left the Labour Party over self ID a while ago but rejoined at Christmas.
