First trans murder of 2020, like just about all of 2019's trans murders, has nothing to do with transphobia

Tragic, yes. Transphobic, no.

"Hearod said that as of Wednesday evening, investigators hadn't found any evidence to suggest that Parker was targeted because he was transgender."

A transwoman was murdered by their partner as well recently. Terrible tragedy for their family and clearly domestic abuse not transphobia- yet it's being claimed as a transphobic murder already. I wonder how many women have been murdered by their partners already in 2020?

Murder is a terrible thing. But it's also a terrible thing to misrepresent and manipulate. The poor vulnerable transwoman story line is a myth.

I can't read that first article (GDPR) but googling it I found another

It doesn't say whether it was or wasn't due to transphobia, so I don't think anyone can really speculate.
I hope they get the piece of shit that killed him.

I can't access the article, but from the line address it looks like an American site, with the American victim killed in America.

Every murder is wrong, nobody here would dispute that. But isn't there evidence to know that in America, transitioning from male to presenting as female (whatever that means) actually slightly lowers your risk of being murdered?
