Bail reform was hailed as something that would bring about more justice and reduce the cruelties of the legal system.

And this is what we're getting.

No one's willing to talk about the impact these things have on women. Do you notice this pattern? All the bleedingheart policies that hurt us, we're told first that it simply won't happen. Next we'll be told it won't happen often. Then we'll be told that it does happen, but our lives are acceptable collateral damage.

Same song, different verse.

It has been a year since the Trump administration redefined Domestic Violence Law to only apply to criminal acts and not the abusive behaviors that include coercive control.
Bail reform was necessary and important, but as usual it will be used by men to endanger women.
Rewriting DV laws reminds us that cruelty is the point.
