I'll post more tips as they become available for anyone who wants to dip a toe in the water.

"I'm sure your members will be fine creating a profile as presumably they did so on Mumsnet. You then go to your home page and click on the 'Spinster' tab at the top. That takes you to the feed for all of us. You can click to follow people (I suspect Mumsnet has this facility too so, again, assume members will find this easy enough). The icons under each post allow you to 'reply', 'share post' and 'like post' in that order. I'm not sure about Mumsnet but, unlike with Twitter, sharing a post doesn't give you the opportunity to share it with a comment of your own.

Once you're following people the tabs at the top of your home page make more sense. 'Home' is for people you're following, 'Spinster' is for everyone on our part of the Fediverse and 'Fediverse' itself is an open forum where you get all sorts of people and different groups, not all of them women-friendly.

I've been followed by Death too. I've nothing to say, I'm happy to read and learn so why anyone would follow me is anyone's guess.

GirlDownUnder - Glindr has gone a bit quiet, but it's a good place. Spinster is better if you want more of a woman-focused place.

I joined Spinster back in August but couldn’t work it out and haven’t been back... but went back on last night and started following people, given what’s happened here with Lang in the last few days I feel a lot less favourably towards MN (understatement) and feel more secure to have a ‘backup’ that isn’t Twitter where you can say even less than you can here.

I’ve taken to screen shorting my own posts here now, in case they get deleted.

I bob in and out on Spinster, depending upon what is going on, but see it as my 'back-up' at least, should I ever get banned here. At least I will be able to find some like-minded souls there.

Good idea to screenshot posts that may prove to be bannable offences (depending on what the rules are this week and who is enforcing them).

I know general advice is you should use different names on different SM, but I'm on Spinster under my usual name here.
