Of course reasoned debate can defeat unreasonable ideas......that is the whole purpose of reasoned debate and exploration........You'd think that Phipps would be first on board to reveal all of the logical flaws in the gender critical view....and defeat it once and for all......Can't though!

You will never get a reasoned debate from someone whose whole theory, or set of ideas, is based on unquestioning acceptance of articles of faith, rather than simple facts.

She has obviously never been on AIBU

I am still in a state of deep distress about other women academics in other disciplines and doubt that I shall recover from this any time soon.

It's a very good article. I highly recommend it.

Jane Clare Jones's work is by far the most sophisticated yet accessible writing on this topic. She actually knows what she is talking about when she discusses post-structuralism, contrary to most other people in this debate. Intellectually, most professors of gender studies are not fit to wipe her shoes, metaphorically speaking.

I wish she would get an agent, and an editor and publish her blog posts as a book. PLEASE

Excellent. Doc Jones is an awesome writer and this piece really needed saying just to let Phipps categorically know that Phipps is full of shit.

The inability of the gender defenders to produce anything near a quality argument has been apparent for a long time now, that they are still churning their billious nonsense out is really something (its a Phipps and Hines tie with amazingly unreflective Manne bringing up the rear with the strange ability to ignore her own penchant for himpathy)
