I’d say it’s a diversionary tactic but I’m absolutely sure Yaniv would never fabricate for personal gain.

Yaniv isn't 'intellectually impaired,' he's a psychopath who's escalating and believes he's untouchable. He threatened a celebrity and got away with it, he threatened to "slit the throat" of one of his neighbours and got away with it, he assaulted 2 reporters on camera and got away with it. Plus all the pedo stuff. He's going to keep escalating until the hammer comes down, then he's going assault the women they lock him up with. Bad laws and bad policing made Yaniv more dangerous.
