Woman (the female sort) standing for election at Holyrood with the Lib Dems. Running a "woman only" event to try and encourage more women (unspecified which type) into politics.
Is there any point in asking the question - "will you have achieved your aim if the women you get into politics are male?"
Here's her blurb:
“For me, a better democracy is a democracy where women do not only have the right to vote and to elect, but to be elected.” Michelle Obama
Two years ago I joined the Lib Dems and now I’m campaigning to be elected to Holyrood in 2021. Too many women have told me that they wouldn’t know how to run for office if they wanted to. Plenty more have told me they want to see me in Holyrood, but they don’t know how to help me get there.
I want to do things differently. I’ve pulled back the curtain and I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole...the way that we elect our politicians is not the way that we should be electing our politicians. I’m going to change that, but only with your help. Come along to my event - the first of its kind - and help me to change politics.
I want to come at this election as a voter, a mother of a young lad, a daughter of a disabled dad, a carer, a business owner. But mostly I want to change the chat.
Up for it? I am.
