Once again the power of the trans lobby has turned a story in which a member of staff behaved correctly - ie saying the women's toilets were for biological females, not somebody who has an identity.

But now the management are saying the staff will get training as they too seem to have swallowed the trans reality pill that says the EA protects trans but not women.

As usual most of the comments are just snigger, snigger although one has said what about how the women using the toilets fees.

Yet again the mainstream media, either because they just cant be bothered or have had Stonewall trainging publish reports that are actually not factual.

The trans tide just keeps on rolling on engulfing anyones who tries to stand in its way.

Exactly that, so it was a bit frustrating to see the Mirror removed a comment stating that fact. There seems to be an insidious creep of misinformation and lies.

Well the bar manager shouldn't have told Amelia to use the disabled toilets as they are strictly for disabled people. Barman should have told Amelia to use the men's.
Disabled people shouldn't lose their spaces to able bodied people just like women shouldn't lose their spaces to men.

How do we get the message to the establishment in question that they are perfectly within their rights to exclude a TW from the ladies?

I don't know. This crap will keep happening again and again, and small businesses will bow to the pressure out of fear of being taken to court.
The GRA should be repealed and the whole idea of 'gender reassignment' needs to be binned. A man can call himself Geraldine, wear lipstick and still piss in the presence of other men. It's nothing new. This lunacy has to stop.

I really feel for the business - put in such a difficult position. They are getting a doing on their fb page, though there are a few people trying to post accurate information there's tonnes of opposite interpretations of the Equality Act, etc.

Is there really good, clear source of information on the legalities of this for businesses to access? It seems such a murky, contested, febrile swamp of disinformation right now.

TBH I first looked at the picture and though Amelia had made an outstanding transition, and then I realised the woman at the front is a woman and the transwomam looks very similar to the other men in the band
If you have to tell security staff that you're transgender then you are perfectly safe using the facilities aligned to your birth sex.

Oh dear Northern. Am not on FB so can't support you there sorry, but back in the real world there is no reason in the world for that person not to use the men's loo.
It always amazes me that the reason given for self identifying obviously male people to use women's loos is that they are not safe in the mens loos, but in the same breath women who reject gender neutral loos are prudish pearl clutchers.

I agree with getting the message out to the venue about the real laws involved.

A person who does not have a GRC or amended birth certificate is treated as their natal sex.
This is not discrimination. Under the Equality Act, an adjustment is made to permit people to participate in everyday life; people who do not share the protected characteristic have no right to use the adjustment, and cannot claim for discrimination if they are prevented from doing so.

However even with a GRC/amended birth certificate a person does not have an automatic right to access women only spaces or services.

The Equality Act says it's lawful to provide separate services for men and women if:

Seems like there must have been some dissenters to the Great Trans Ideology in the comments section of the Mirror story, as they are no longer loading. Unbelievers must be silenced.

Most of the comments under the article do not support Amanda's demands or feelings.

I was also thinking whether it would be worth complaining to Andover Council who presumably issue them with a licence, to say that they are in breach of the Equality Act and they should intervene. andover-tc.gov.uk/ - though I suppose it is just as likely that the Council has also gone through Stonewall Training.

I don’t wish to break the rules of mumsnet, as i respect this forum. Could i make my point acceptably by saying non-disabled people should not use the disabled toilet? It’s not meant to be an alternativefor anyone not wishing to use the men’s or women’s.
