It’s concerning that they not only fired him for supporting free speech, but want him to erase his past. This idea that you can rewrite history into a seamless narrative of perfection is colonialism on a nation-state scale and fantasy on an individual level.

Was the debate over bill C16 not on their radar? Did they not realise its impact?

Even prefacing mild criticism with "I love trans people, every trans person I've ever met is amazing" is not obsequious enough. Nothing but total subjugation is enough. First time I've seen them fire a bland white straight beardy man for the nothing they routinely fire women for, though. Oooh, equality.

This is concerning. However I must point out that the next article on this site quotes Titania McGrath as an example of cancel culture gone too far, so I think it's not an amazingly reliable journalistic source (though what is, these days?).

It's deeply amusing to me how perfect an example of Poe's Law Titania is turning out to be.
