Apologies for all the attempts - my preview attempts are glitchy

That is very sad indeed (FTM). Such drastic surgery, I honestly can't imagine going through all that and in her/his case, bitterly regretting it.

littlbrowndog · 26/12/2019 09:55

She was so young. I just read her story.

How can doctors do this

She said the clinic made it all seem so normalisd

How and why have we got to this 🤷‍♀️

JellySlice · 26/12/2019 16:07

Read some more by her, about lies and honesty...and their consequences https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1191139421720076289.html

It really is very sad. And, sadly, totally predictable. How can a life be built upon lies? No wonder that those who seek to maintain their lies are so angry Sad

Michelleoftheresistance · 26/12/2019 16:37

Heartbreaking indeed. This is (another, this truly seems to be a common theme with ftm detransitioners who express what happened to them) an intelligent, articulate and insightful woman, who was crying out for help and transition was sold as an answer. And her articulacy and intelligence was no protection, the narrative took her in. The betrayal they describe, the failure of adults they looked to for help, is awful to read about.

AnotherLass · 26/12/2019 16:49

From memory I think that she is Belgian.

It shows that this is a global thing and really isn't limited to the English speaking countries

WomanBornNotWorn · 26/12/2019 18:35

FTM, of course. Poor love.

But were they insightful and articulate at the time they were making their transition choices? Or were they, in fact, quite the opposite? Steamrollered by the online 'community' of people taking no personal risks in the so-called support they gave. Taught the words to say to HCPs in order to achieve the result the trans ideologues claimed would solve all their problems.

Perhaps they heard what they wanted to hear. Every surgeon, for every invasive procedure, lists all possible risks and outcomes. Nobody expects any of the negative outcomes. "It won't happen to me." You focus on the positive results that you want.

'Affirmation'!SadAngry

A wise old something-or-other once told me: “Play the hand you were dealt.”

stillathing · 26/12/2019 21:47

Oh gosh this is so heart breaking. It's made me angry all over again with the female celebrities currently supporting mermaids. THEY aren't about to mutilate their bodies are they? They get to have sex, give birth, and breast feed if they want to. Why don't they question the internalised misogyny that allows them to dismiss other women's voices so easily while basking smugly in the approval of the woke? I know it's not their fault but I am angry at their selfish motives.

Helmetbymidnight · 26/12/2019 21:53

I had my breasts and reproductive organs removed before I had even had sex for the first time

absolutely tragic. my goodness, if ever ones resolve slips about what a heinous movement this is, read this poor young womans account. Sad
