Article here

Including this quote: "Professor Robin Lovell-Badge, head of the laboratory of stem cell biology and developmental genetics at the Francis Crick Institute, who discovered the gene that determines sex in mammals, said: “In the UK, I think most [people] would use ‘sex’ to refer to anatomical appearance and ‘gender’ to ways of behaviour.”
To a scientist, he said, anatomy could appear male, female or somewhere in between, but a man who transitioned could be said to change sex."

They're just a type of migratory goose, with an odd legend attached. You could view it as medieval pseudoscience - someone claimed to have seen geese emerging from a particular type of barnacle. The myth was dispelled by proper observation

Just migratory geese? That seems to downgrade them.... I like the mythical emergence from a barnacle... it has a certain romantic quality.....

She occupies one of two positions reserved for trans people yet her views are clearly not representative of the community she is supposed to be fighting for.

For a second, I thought you were talking about Lily Madigan.

Who has a space reserved for women and clearly doesn’t represent the community they are supposed to (just in case I wasn’t clear)

Is this known or is this an impression gained via the amplification of social media?

And he's saying it of himself I assume? (in which case he/him is appropriate MNHQ)

XXJingleBelle · 22/12/2019 15:22

Exactly, Hayton is free to describe himself anyway he pleases. This is the freedom of speech issue illustration at its finest.

A transman who wore a "Transmen are women" t shirt would probably been arrested and never have made it home mind you. The difference in how men and women are treated doesn't change regardless of gender.

I just cant get over that quote from "head of the laboratory of stem cell biology and developmental genetics at the Francis Crick Institute".

It's mind boggling.

Someone should ask the Francis Crick Institute to clarigy their position and whether the work they do is based on science or science fiction.
