"we agreed this widely accepted language with trans women and clinicians"

For the most oppressed people evah TW seem to have a lot of power, when dictating the use of language.

Qcng · 17/12/2019 17:37

But I'm lolling at the "ratio" !

AnyOldPrion · 17/12/2019 17:49

Except that the list is topped by “men” whereas “women” is never, ever mentioned as we’re not allowed to use it unless we

  1. Are including male transitioners

Or

  1. Prefix it with the banned term that means s women somehow or other oppress men
koshkat · 17/12/2019 17:54

Hopefully this will piss a few men off and their eyes will be opened...

SidJS · 17/12/2019 17:55

AnyOldPrion

yes you are completely right - a vital point!!

AuntSpiker · 17/12/2019 17:57

I notice they didn't ask men, just TW...

AuntSpiker · 17/12/2019 18:01

Just to point out that of course I'm aware that TW are men, but that there's no mention of 'men' in relation to prostates is astonishing.

ArnoldWhatshisknickers · 17/12/2019 18:03

Who has a prostate? Men. that's who.

Shall we ask who is a bipedal ape next?

Ereshkigal · 17/12/2019 18:12

I predict this will get nipped in the bud pretty quickly. All men's health campaigns emphasise the manliness of men.

CrissmussMockers · 17/12/2019 18:13

I'm dreading the day that Call The Midwife is Fallen, with the gender fairy stalking the corridors of Nonnatus dispensing pink and blue fairydust.

Swat it, Jenny Agutter!

This. Spot the difference.

It's the assigned a gender identity at birth thing that grates on me. It's NOT

DryHeave · 17/12/2019 18:36

My baby’s sex was first observed by a sonographer. Then recorded by a midwife. Then certified by a registrar. (And in fact, the midwife got the drop down wrong and baby was almost registered as the opposite sex - luckily we parents were able to detect the sex and point out the error.)

littlbrowndog · 17/12/2019 18:48

Assigned. That’s a lucky raffle that midwives do

I have seen it. Am still not sure on my kids

Sure the raffle was rigged 🤓🤔

littlbrowndog · 17/12/2019 19:05

From twitter

Does anyone have an address for the Royal College Of Gender Identity Assigners?

FannyCann · 17/12/2019 19:07

When birth notifications were first computerised I spent six months putting "C" for Caucasian in the race box before I discovered "C" was for Chinese. Grin

Clymene · 17/12/2019 19:28

Do you know what, I don't have that much of a problem with thisbecause it clearly states that prostate cancer affects men* and some other people who might not consider themselves to be men but who also have prostates.

Whereas cutting the word women out of similar ads for cervical cancer puts women at real risk.

*ignoring all the AAB bolleaux

Clymene · 17/12/2019 19:29

My bolding went badly wrong there. BlushGrin

GrinitchSpinach · 17/12/2019 19:31

My last pregnancy was a couple of years ago, but prenatal cell-free DNA testing was already available and let me know that baby was XX when I was, hmmm about 11 weeks along? Shockingly, she was born with a vulva and all the other female bits!

Do adherents to gender identity ideology really believe this was an unpredictable outcome?

cwg1 · 17/12/2019 20:02

address for the Royal College of Gender Identity Assigners

I believe it's c/o Layla Moran MP, House of Commons, London.

Khione · 17/12/2019 20:27

I wish Terry Pratchett was still around to write a discworld novel that dealt with this subject.
