The man in question is a Boy Scout leader, so there’s been much discussion of this on the big international scouting Facebook page. I was horrified to see the number of men on there defending him, saying he shouldn’t be punished for one mistake, and most oddly saying the woman was only upset in hopes of getting money!

I’m always baffled by the “one mistake” types. No one is proposing that he be banned from the kingdom forever but simply that a reasonable penalty be applied.

One mistake. Please. they'd all go apeshit if someone did that to their daughters. But it's ok in the meantime to treat half the human race as objects until it affects 'them'. Argh.

Reeks of male entitlement, doesn’t it. “Women are objects for me to grope or slap as I wish” .
We need plenty of publicity for these type of cases (and the resulting court appearances, punishments and criminal records.) It might just make a few of the arrogant buggers think twice in future.

I wonder if any person ever in the world has wanted to have their arse smacked while trying to do a piece to camera for their job. It doesn't take much imagination to know it would be an unwelcome assault.

I've had Facebook spats with men about this. It's depressing how they minimise and excuse it.

There's no way he was aiming for her shoulder.

If you watch the clip he's looking down as he does (probably at her bum), which in my opinion makes it obvious that he was aiming for her bum, not her bloody shoulder!!

If he was aiming higher, ie shoulder, he'd have been looking at where he was aiming (as is usual).
