I have a hobby, a passion, a sport and I spend a fair amount of time reading a forum related to this as I love the sport and reading around it. However, it's so misogynistic to the point I've had to leave the forum.
Today I read on there people discussing that a coach had taken his team to Hooters (American restaurant where waitresses wear skimpy clothes), he was disciplined for it and possibly fired/suspended. Their response? #metoo claims another victim. The 'victim' is the man.
Honest to God I don't often see rage but how are they so blind? How can they not see? Anyone with half a brain knows what goes on in the world - the statistics around sexual violence and violence against women are HORRIFYING and personally, I know so many people, maybe almost everyone... who has been affected on some level by sexual violence, either directly or indirectly. I can't go out at night, after dark - why? Fear of being assaulted - by a man. I'm not scared of women out there. I'm alone on a bus at night - I'm scared. Why? I don't walk down my road at night. I assess the situation in carparks - because of the thing that happened in a car park. Etc etc etc etc etc etc.
And yet the men are the victims.
Boohoo.
Am I justified in being this mad?
