Can’t see another thread on this, apologies if I missed it.
Sorry I can’t work out how to link to FB but Green Party Women’s page has issued a statement asking people to refrain from using the term T*rf in light of FPFW report on its use by Green (and other parties) candidates. They’re getting a lot of kickback from TRAs but it’s quite extraordinary reading their new stance and recognition of misogyny and institutionalised sexism in the Greens!

Oh my, some of the replies to that thread are just awful.

It has brought out just how unpleasant and irrational some people are though, sunlight and all that. I think it's been well-played.

Is it possible that a small group of dissidents have somehow taken over the Green Party Women Facebook page, and they're running with the gender-critical idea until the rest of the party reclaims control? This just seems like such a huge break with the past policy (and so many GC women have left the Greens) that I can't believe it's got much support in the party.

It's as if some splinter group has taken over a radio station and is broadcasting their viewpoint until finally the doors are broken down and they're hauled away from the microphone! With prompt and fervent denials immediately made, saying that the views expressed were not authorized as party policy etc etc.

Regardless of what's happening with GPW (ive been looking, but can't find the bloody post I saw the other day), I know it is not a small number of people who are very angry that self-ID was snuck into the manifesto without a vote by the members.

It seems strange to me that the Green Party is more concerned with gender ideology than saving the planet. Same with Amnesty - I was a big supporter of them in the past but they seem more concerned now about affirming gender identity than fighting for political prisoners.

@gencritgreen is the account to follow on Twitter.

Well done to Jacky and those other women.

I'm sure there are some delightful threats and ladycock images being sent your way, so I applaud your mettle.

It's full of "Terf is not an insult, it's a description" with absolutely no self reflection on say, male being a legitimate descriptor that plenty of TRAs regard as actual violence. And so fucking appropriative: asking if TW need to respect their oppressors (meaning GC fems), which has been lifted wholesale from feminist arguments for sex segregated spaces, making a revolting equivalence that doesn't exist (because it's not gender critical women who are responsible for 98% of violence including sexual violence against women but it absolutely is male people who perpetrate 98% these violences against women)

I found the page and the thread and got all annoyed again. It seemed depressingly full of men telling women how to do feminism.

Clearly they have no appreciation of irony. Or feminism.

It's entryism. Lots of woke young people joining and then pushing their own agenda.
