In case anyone needed a reminder about who the main target is for trans rights activists.

Tom Chivers, journalist with almost 40K followers on Twitter, tweeted about his new article in response to Jo Swinson's position.

No one's yet arrived to scream TERF at him. No one's flown in, as they did speedily after Emily Maitlis' interview with the Tavi, to exclaim he's a TERF.

No one has yet to accuse him of erasing trans people.

No gifs, no guns, no anime visitors. No 'OK Boomer'

I'm not sure whether the bat signal has gone out to TRAs to advise that right now, in election week, increasing sunlight is not a good look.

Or whether they're just not aware of Tom's hateful views yet.

Or whether it's something to do with Tom's sex?

(Obviously, this doesn't hold true to all, as some of the earlier male adopters, such as Glinners, has come in for all sorts of stick similar to women. But it's a trend that many gender critical men will attest to - somehow they just don't seem to get the hate that women in this debate do.)

One of his supporters claims that 50 per cent of domestic violence is committed by females. The problem is apparently that it isn’t reported.
This makes me wonder about his article. Since the person who made this claim really liked the article.

MRAs appear to be split on the issue.

I don’t think it’s just because he’s male. He’s very much dipping his toe and saying very little that’s controversial. I think that women like Kathleen Stock and Jane Clare Jones have moved the Overton window far enough that this piece is no longer sufficiently sensational as to grab much attention.

He also throws the self-ID bods a huge bone in the form of this statement:

"you can make the arguments about the Gender Recognition Act, about self-ID for trans people, without tying them to biological claims."

I’d like to see him try. There is not one single logical argument for self-ID, which is why it ends up with people insisting men are women (#nodebate). He’s carefully body-swerving anything truly incendiary.

Its obvious who the target is because there is no male equivalent of 'terf'.

But just that - he's toe-dipping.

Because women, like those you mention, Kathleen and Clare, have paved the 'safe' path for him? So they get the attacks, so he can bathe in 'thoughtful thought'? They've boiled in oil so he can dip his toe in a warm bath? Fuck that.

And Rachel Rooney and Jessica Ahlberg published a book that metions trans 0.

And their careers are attacked.
