My friend, lapdancer penalised for being spiked

My friend is a lapdancer and the other night she had her drink spiked with something that made her fall into a deep sleep . She was taken to hospital overnight and is fine now

The manager of the club says she is suspended as it looks bad on the club and he has had a warning from licensing etc. I'm fuming on her behalf. Why is she being penalised for being attacked? I have name changed hopefully for obvious reasons.

Shock

She needs to sue the club for failing to protect their staff. Their drug policy clearly needs to be refreshed with all door and floor staff.

OP repost this in the employment and legal sections of MN to see if she has any recourse on this.

l agree with the previous posters. This is not a reflection on her at all. My friend's daughter is a police officer, and she had her drink spiked on a night out. Fortunately her friends realised what had happened and looked after her and got her to safety.
She needs to report it, and look into taking it further.

It sounds like the manager is going on the offensive in an attempt to avoid being blamed. Any employee being drugged in the workplace should initiate a root and branch review of procedures rather than ascribing blame to the victim of the attack. Hope your friend is ok OP.

Self employed may make a difference but I still think there might be a responsibility on the bar owner to protect her.
