Spy cams in toilets

South Korea have teams of people using hardware kit to detect hidden spy cam ware in public toilets.

Could be worthwhile using this info to lobby M&S, John Lewis etc to do the same in their changing rooms?!

It would make a great investigative tv episode. How many cameras can we find in high street, family friendly stores?

midcenturylegs · 04/12/2019 09:29

Yes! I'd love to buy one of these actually and do my own sleuthing!

Me too - if anyone find an affordable, portable version please let me know.

midcenturylegs · 04/12/2019 09:37

Just looked - there are some from £10 to £50 on Amazon

Thinking about it though.. wouldn't normal / legal security cameras set this off too?

Oh I have misunderstood - I want handbag sized gadget that scans and detects the hidden cameras - now that would be worth buying!

I have been a victim of a spy-cam in a toilet (mixed sex toilet). I've also looked into the kit that detects them. Most of them appear to work by detecting the tiny reflective elements within the spy-cam lens.

They get variable reviews online, although there are affordable versions the really effective ones are quite expensive. I think we should absolutely encourage those stores happily promoting mixed sex provision to use these. They should be checking several times every day, all day during opening hours.

OhHolyJesus · 04/12/2019 10:30

I'm up for that Humber please shout with what you find.

Milanimilani · 04/12/2019 10:47

would they check, though? To do so would be to admit there is a problem with the new rules being implemented.

Wondersense · 04/12/2019 10:52

@YellaHumberElla Haha. They won't check though.

Ifonlyus · 04/12/2019 10:55

I think all ships and businesses have an obligation to use this technology in their toilets and changing rooms regardless of how the door is labeled as males will also manage to get spy cameras into ladies facilities by being an employee or waiting for a quiet moment to enter. However, I agree its a good way to raise issues with shops over over mixed sex changing rooms and toilets.

MedusasButterDish · 04/12/2019 17:24

Ooh, a new form of mystery shopping. I like it. Smile

YellaHumberElla · 04/12/2019 17:52

Interestingly, there are LOTS of very enthusiastic reviews from users of spy-cams on sites such as amazon. Lots of excited men marvelling at their ability to produce very clear images from the most secret places. Available to view any time. And live stream.

Hundreds of them.

I'm actually considering getting one of the decent spy cam detectors. Perhaps it's my inner Nancy Drew combined with my fucking anger at what's going on. Maybe I should set up a blog reporting on my findings!
