Apparently

‘’Labour, the Lib Dems and the Greens have thoughtful, sensitive and well-thought-through policies’’

Sadly they have forgotten to examine the consequences of their policies on women and girls...

Who is Jonathan Cooper?

He thinks that "the truly shocking policy omission from the Conservative manifesto is any meaningful reference to trans rights, let alone equality. Labour, the Lib Dems and the Greens have thoughtful, sensitive and well-thought-through policies. Labour has gone on to clarify its commitment to ending discrimination against trans people. The failure of the Tories to engage expressly with trans rights is setting up a battleground for the future. The message is clear: Boris Johnson’s Tories consider trans issues to be a vote loser."

What's his skin in this game?

The Tories may be ducking the issue but Labour's policy is clear as mud. Dawn Butler was trying to put a completely different spin on official policy. So who to trust, those who say nothing or those who try and say two things at once? what a choice!

Cooper is a human rights barrister who clearly doesn't give a shit about women or our rights.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 01/12/2019 20:09

Like anybody still reading the guardian is going to vote Tory anyway.
They are preaching to the unreachably converted.

zanahoria · 01/12/2019 21:35

Cooper hasn't factored in how toxic this issue has become. The Tories have noticed and made a decision to ignore it, a cowardly move but a calculated one.

EmpressLesbianInChair · 01/12/2019 21:41

The Guardian have always been shit on this.

Wasn't this guy on the TV or radio on this subject a couple of months ago and was embarrassingly bad for a barrister?
