putting them in a men’s prison would have done the job

Fernández was denounced on April 4 for “savagely beating” the woman when he learned that she was pregnant, and 11 women attested to witnessing the attack. After the discovery, a judge released Mr Nahir Fernández from custody, determining that he was eligible for parole. The woman remains in prison.

Wow! Pathway to rehabilitation eh!! Angry

This is a nightmare.

And what will happen to the baby? Will we see babies born in prison to mothers raped by inmates? Will women be pressured to abort / be sterilised?

How many such "incidents" will have to happen before anyone says - oh, we've just realised, transwomen commit crime like men after all. How fucking unexpected. Who knew?

Think I've reached peak stupid.

You kinda read this stuff and you think no this would never happen

It’s like unreal stuff yet there is women having men sex offenders put in prison with them and yet

It’s so inclusive

The article that in Argentina, where this took place: The young children of 6% of female detainees stay with their mothers in custody

We're soon going to see children conceived by rape in prison, including to women in long sentences. They'll be born in custody, spend time in prison when young then be adopted I would imagine.

It's unspeakably unfair for the State to impose a system that will result in bringing children into the world in such circumstances. How desperately sad and unfair for those children.

Argentina is a Catholic country, isn't it? Would the women have access to abortion if they wanted one?

Is there any likelyhood here that abortion would be either denied, or pushed on them?

A prisoner is not capable of consenting to sex, even with another prisoner. There is too much chance of coercion. Even without the beating, how has this individual not been charged with rape?
