This is interesting- our law in Ireland is very new. I understand it's been illegal since 1985 in the UK but no successful prosecutions yet. The poor little girl.
I imagine the sentence will be a joke (it's the trend to hand out joke sentences here in general) but it sends out a strong message. Irish Feminism (tm) will have a challenging time covering it given their usual cowardly avoidance of difficult conversations but it's something.
