Labour's plans to compensate Waspi women and self ID

I've just been reading about Labour's plans to compensate women who have lost out as a result of the changes to pension age and I'm wondering how this will fit with gender self-ID statements made by Dawn Butler and chums.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2019-50534118

Labour will offer compensation of around £30,000 to those worst affected and the average payout has been estimated to be around £15k. There's an estimated 3.7 million women affected.

What will happen if millions of men born in the 1950s decide to self-ID as female and claim?

Can find any men in their late 50s/ early 60s who will self-ID as female now, before the election, so that if Labour win they can test this pledge. Anyone know a man/ men who'd be prepared to do it? Remember, chaps, you don't have to wear women's clothing or take hormones or have surgery or even shave off your beard. If you say you're a woman, Dawn Butler accepts that you're a woman – and you could be in for a cash windfall.

why not?

Well I’d the rules allow it then yes, they probably could.

I don’t think so - it’s compensation for the pensions women would have had forecast before the age was raised. Not an automatic payout based on age/sex.

Given that they have had our nd our employers contributions already , they could do it as repayment of a Loan, with interest. The whole brexit disaster has probably be paid for using this money.

"What will happen if millions of men born in the 1950s decide to self-ID as female and claim?"
Then the Government would have to finally recognise that selfID is stupid. Because money talks a damned sight louder than women.

Cwenthryth,

But surely it is only about age and sex? Labour has promised to compensate women born from 1950 to April 1960. Sex and age.

Dawn Butler et al say that you can become a woman simply by self-IDing as one. So what's to stop any man born between 1950 and 1960 self-IDing as a woman to claim the money?

Of course if Labour turn them down what will that mean for self-ID? Will self-ID count for the purposes of entering women's changing rooms and demanding smear tests and being on an all-female shortlists and gaining access to women's private space, but not for a woman's pension?

I will need to ask my Labour MP for guidance.
