He is not underage, so what are they hiding?

But his identity can be kept secret in that legal action should it be required.

AgnesNaismith · 22/11/2019 14:01

@Usernumbers1234 ah I see you’re right....just a standard scumbag.

IsadoraQuagmire · 22/11/2019 14:26

His stepbrother certainly has the measure of him.

He labelled Kempson a ‘pathological liar that lies over pointless things and continues to lie until the point where he has got no out, absolutely no out, and then he just breaks down and cries and runs away'

stupidtabloidheadlines · 22/11/2019 14:28

It's all over everyone's favourite news source, the DM.

PegasusReturns · 22/11/2019 14:30

Yep front page of daily mail - big picture too

LimeRedBanana · 22/11/2019 15:03

If name suppression ensures a fair trial, and a guilty verdict, I am OK with it.

His name will now come out - and he will be shamed in the way poor Grace and her family have been.

I'm in NZ and when I enter his name in google, the various news stories come up, but I can't access most of the pages, including the DM.

I was with friends last night - and the sheer relief we all felt when the verdict was announced ....

This is what our daughter face, will be facing, and it's not OK. I really hope a clear message has been sent with this verdict.

Appealing the sentence

overnightangel · 18/03/2020 07:59

Name still suppressed?

CuriousaboutSamphire · 18/03/2020 09:56

It may be supressed now but back in November it wasn't! It's still there in the headline in The Standard!

nettie434 · 18/03/2020 10:11

I was going to mention the different New Zealand legislation too but I see others have done this already. I understand his name will be released in New Zealand once the other trial is concluded.

The case highlights the importance of all countries legislating against the consensual rough sex defence. I so admire the work that Karen Ingala Smith and others have done over the years to expose this so-called 'defence'

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 18/03/2020 11:15

Is there any details on this "other" trial in the news?

nettie434 · 18/03/2020 11:26

As far as I know it is a similar offence Sonic

overnightangel · 18/03/2020 14:28

Oh right @CuriousaboutSamphire the article I read today still didn’t name the culprit, how strange

CuriousaboutSamphire · 18/03/2020 15:00

Or The Standard have messed up by not removing it!

WrathofFaeKlopp · 18/03/2020 15:37

Didn't the NZ prime minister refuse to name this man, on the basis if you name the perpetrator then it validates the person?

CoolCarrie · 18/03/2020 15:44

Bastard, how dare he appeal , poor Grace, it’s terrible her family having to deal with this again.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 18/03/2020 15:58

Ah! Like the man who killed John Lennon?

I never did understand why he is now named...
