This is from today's Times, there was another article yesterday, comments are mostly depressing. Men really don't like to have their misogeny challenged.

Mr Baird said: “My attempt at humour was clearly very ill-judged and I apologise unreservedly to anyone who was offended. It was never my intention to cause upset to those involved in the sport I love and I am deeply sorry.”

"It was never my intention" There, in a nutshell, is male socialisation. Women grow up learning that we have to monitor our speech in order to keep safe. Men don't. So it doesn't occur to them to consider the consequences of their speech.

(Yeah, yeah NAMALT)

The comments are even worse than the story.

Particularly interesting is the one complaining about minorities being offended. I don’t think women are a minority mate.

"The maternity expert is said to have made “disgustingly sexist” comments while introducing Dee Bradbury, the Scottish Rugby Union president, telling the crowd they had to “listen to a woman with her clothes on”."

That's from yesterday's article. I have no idea how anyone in 2019 could think this is an ok thing to say when introducing the female president of Scottish rubgy union at any kind of event.
