I usually look for a charity to donate too in winter. I would consider a small monthly donation, all I can afford
I will not support any charity that does not recognise sex or women's sex based rights
Does anyone know centre points policy?
I won't support shelter because they define by gender
I have emailed center point but, as yet, no response

I cancelled my direct debits to big national charities - not just about this issue but also because I felt that the money was going to fund advertising / big salaries for directors etc. rather than being used to benefit the original cause. I have found small local charities to donate to instead.

That's a good point. I might be better looking for a local women's refuge. It won't be very local as I live in a small place but could find my nearest

eveappeal.org.uk/

They know what a woman is, they use the language of women and girls and they focus on 5 gynaecological cancers.

You can set up a monthly donation for the Rape Crisis centre in Canada that was attacked by Morgane Oger.

I've recently cancelled that DD so to support the LGB Alliance as they have started taking monthly donations.

Even Children in Need has given raised funds to Mermaids in the past, it's very difficult.

I have cancelled all my subs to people like Greenpeace and Amnesty.

I now donate to fundraisers such as FairCop, Maya, etc and grassroots orgs such as Transgender Trend and FairPlay for Women.

I'm directing my support to trying to turn this tide as quickly as possible.

Uncompromisingwoman · 16/11/2019 20:26

Ironically I was able to make another donation to Fair Cop because I saved so much last weekend by not doing a major shop for a social weekend at M & S. I passed the saving on today. Smile

I give to women’s groups I heard about at FiLiA. WAST (Women Asylum Seekers Together) Manchester, Women for Refugee Women in London, Testimony Tailors in Bradford for the Rohingya refugee community there, Southall Black Sisters, the Orchid Project who campaign against FGM.

Also not charity related and not trying to derail but I buy books from News from Nowhere, a women run collective bookshop, posts to anywhere and they can order in titles you want.

Better than Amazon anyway! I heard about it on MN.
