All the Mumsnet posts about the male fetishists posting pervy reviews of M&S knickers has got in the Sun. Joani Walsh topped off this journalist and he stole her story and didn't credit her: www.thesun.co.uk/news/10350754/marks-spencer-slammed-men-underwear-reviews/

OP posts:

Percy Penises - lifelike sweets by the tills.

Theredjellybean · 16/11/2019 13:32

last year a company called Firebox had on their best seller list for christmas men's lace boxers and mens' lace thongs

not as joke presents

no harm if designed for and sold as items specifically for the male anatomy...if they want lacy little wisps of not much..must be a market for this stuff

but please not on items marketed as womenswear and then possibly returned for women tto buy..ugh

i have not bought underwear from M&S for yrs and wont be returning anytime soon

Theredjellybean · 16/11/2019 13:33

i wondered about chaffing myself...

JoyceJeffries · 16/11/2019 13:35

Do M&S really allow underwear to be returned 🤮🤮.

Lamahaha · 16/11/2019 13:41

Do M&S really allow underwear to be returned 🤮🤮.

This is what I find incredible. I recently bought a duvet from a supermarket, opened it at home and found I had bought a double instead of a single. I tried to return it, with the open packaging, but was told they couldn't take it back for reasons of hygiene. And yet undies can be returned?
(It wasn't M&S btw)

Thethiniceofanewday · 16/11/2019 13:48

+1 for Tesco knickers. Comfy and last well.

SarahTancredi · 16/11/2019 14:02

Well the comments under the article dont seem to get it so they.

The issue isnt even so much reviewing them. After all a " washed well, good quality. " review would be ok. You know the kind of review most people leave

It's the blatant agp reviewing. You can tell they are written by men before you even look most the time.

Huge difference in content

Gertrudesgarden · 16/11/2019 14:04

Another vote for tescos knickers in the sealed packs. If the pack has been opened (ffs, why??) then its obvious. I still always always always wash them before I wear them. Clothing factories are dusty and dirty, and who knows how many pairs of hands they've passed through before they're packaged?

koshkat · 16/11/2019 14:12

Maybe they can start offering chocolate dildos to tie their two core market segments together Grin

Can I put a vote in for Sainsburys knickers? Great shorts and also midis which are really very comfy and wash and wear forever. Much cheaper than M&S too.

Ditto socks, snuggly nightwear and fairtrade cotton t-shirts etc.

hopelesssuitcase · 16/11/2019 14:43

I often open the packs as sizes are hard to tell - sometimes they are 10-12 type thing in my dreams and I have a much better idea if they will fit me by seeing the actual pair. I nearly always buy them it's just double checking as I know I can't/wouldn't return them.

TimeLady · 16/11/2019 14:43

It used to be said that much of the M&S red lacy stuff was bought by boyfriends to give to their girlfriends for Valentine's Day....and then the girfriends used to return it and pick something else they actually were prepared to wear instead. Might be true; might have been a smokescreen....who knows.

If JL doesn't accept return on lingerie and swimwear, that would explain the absence of similar reviews on its website, combined with the fact that they don't mention the person's sex either.

M&S's policy is becoming clearer by the day. They know exactly what they're doing.

testing987654321 · 16/11/2019 14:44

You can tell the difference in reviews here, everyone who has recommended pants has commented on basic comfort and how long they last.

hopelesssuitcase · 16/11/2019 14:44

Plus, I have bought Sainsbury's ones that had a bit of lace round the top and when I opened them discovered the lace was only on the front half. Asda's are actually pretty good.

Thehagonthehill · 16/11/2019 14:53

Since women are turning there backs on m&s undies, now to poorly made to be a staple maybe this is the only way to increase sales.
If the men complain about the poor quality material and badly placed gusset m&s will probably to something to remedy it along with a little easing in the crotch no doubt.

JoyceJeffries · 16/11/2019 14:59

Putting the whole AGP underwear fetish thing to one side there is absolutely no way I’m ever buying underwear or swimwear from M&S ever again just based on their returns policy. It’s absolutely disgusting. 🤮

JoyceJeffries · 16/11/2019 15:00

Yy to M&S underwear now being crap quality anyway. I’ll just buy mine from Sainsbury’s now (and make sure it’s in a sealed packet)

Thehagonthehill · 16/11/2019 15:13

I just had a look at reviews, mist of the men and non of the women mark them down for true to size.

Uncompromisingwoman · 16/11/2019 15:20

Wonder whether this man had been welcomed into an M & S changing room when he filmed the young woman in her underwear? I'll bet whichever store it is has tried very hard to keep their name out of the press:
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6796451/Surrey-father-two-jailed-posting-46-upskirt-videos-London-Underground-adult-website.html

sconeonjam · 17/11/2019 09:06

FFS. the pervy fuckers. I don't use M&S so have never seen these.

Seems like M&S are happy to be propped up by so many men buying women's clothes as fetish wear, no wonder John Lewis wants in on the act. Angry

Sibello · 17/11/2019 09:16

Yuck.

Morgomargot · 17/11/2019 11:27

I'm shocked that M&S accept worn knickers as returns when I had to be grilled by 3 managers at a busy check out because the shoes I had bought 3 months previously were falling apart. They all tried to blame me and told me I must be wearing them wrong! They are shoes! How can you wear them wrong?!

This really puts me off M&S. Just gross. Can't believe they condone this.

Gingernaut · 17/11/2019 11:34

I'm mortified to report that, for the first time in decades, I have bought bras from Simply Be and knickers from Primark.

Sad days M&S. Sad days.

TinselAngel · 17/11/2019 11:42

Wasn't there a minor outcry a few years ago when there was a documentary that showed that M&S destroy all the items that are returned to them rather than re sell them? If I've remembered that correctly nobody is going to be buying returned pants.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 17/11/2019 11:47

Please tell me the Primark knickers don't have an open gusset too.

RuffleCrow · 17/11/2019 11:55

I've never felt so glad to already have a boycott in place.

Sadly the key demographic for M & S (besides the wanking man community) are the Daily Mail reading over 60s - less likely to be on MN and less likely to also read the Sun. Maybe we should start postering these articles to the outside of their shops so they don't miss them?
