Here - the speakers look great :) Helen Steel, Pragna Patel, Beatrix Campbell, Karen Ingala-Smith, and Erandi Barbera Moreno.

Anyone else going?

Ooh! I'll have a think.

blackmould · 15/11/2019 18:49

25th, not 23rd!

SupportHuman · 15/11/2019 18:53

Oh bollocks Blush

I'll report it and ask MNHQ to change the title!

I'm going. Will be my first GC event, looks like a stellar line up. Trying to pluck up the courage to invite some friends along but they're all libfems and am worried they'll turn up, see the blue fringes outside with their terf and swerf signs and it'll all be too much for them.

SupportHuman · 16/11/2019 12:20

Do you think it will get picketed? I mean I know they're all GC women speaking and that can never be permitted but the event has basically nothing to do with trans issues, it's about ending violence against women and girls and you'd have to be a complete prick to try and disrupt that. Especially on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

(NB I am aware that there are many many complete pricks out there but it would be a spectacular own goal wouldn't it?)

I really hope not but it's Bristol so you never know. On International Women's Day earlier this year there was a big crowd of people with drums and signs shouting "transwomen are women" at confused passers-by in Bristol city centre.

Bristol is the home of the wokerati. It’s own science centre completely conflates sex and gender

What a lineup! Got my ticket!

SupportHuman · 24/11/2019 16:48

Woooot 🎊🎉 Do we need some sort of MN handshake?

@SupportHuman blink twice with your left eye. haven't seen any protest, so should be fine. Looks like a who's who of male violence activism!

SupportHuman · 25/11/2019 18:42

We Are In! No blue haired screamers outside Grin

Where is it? Lost on campus!!

SupportHuman · 25/11/2019 18:46

Wills Memorial Building (the really tall one) - security check on the door and they will tell you where to go!

Who went then? What did you think?

It was live-streamed. I only realised in time for Bea Campbell (who was absolutely stunning) but I imagine that all of the footage will be put up on SM at some point. Well worth watching if so - WTB are a great organisation, standing up for actual women in the midst of the Bristol wokery.

SupportHuman · 26/11/2019 13:03

It was really fantastic, I'm so glad I dragged myself out of the house for it!

Might try and get along to some of the WTB meetings too.
