Canada has declined Yaniv's appeal against their decision!

Huge thanks to @goinglikeelsie who was the only voice reporting this and to @JCCFCanada who represented the women - it's likely they'd have lost without that support and publicity.

Good.

Although last time I checked they had returned to twitter promoting another all bodies swimHmm

IWantADifferentName · 14/11/2019 09:13

I am very grateful to Elsie for following the case when main stream media was ignoring it. I am pleased and relieved it is now getting the attention it deserves.

I am relieved to hear that Yaniv wasn’t granted permission to appeal the decision. I had followed this quite closely but apparently missed the fact that Yaniv wanted to appeal. Makes me worry about what else I may have missed!

I believe Yaniv will be in court on firearms charges in early December. The TrustedNerd twitter account has been comparatively quiet since the Tribunal’s decision was first announced. Long may it remain so!

NonnyMouse1337 · 14/11/2019 09:14

Yaniv is the gift that keeps on giving. The epitome of self-identification in action. Exactly what the Trans Privilege Activists want but now they are squirming because of how bad it can be when you start to take such an infantile concept to its logical conclusion. Yet their pride and arrogance won't allow them to admit it is such a flawed idea.

At least the Tribunal had the sense to throw out the appeal.

OhHolyJesus · 14/11/2019 09:54

I've seen elsewhere that Yaniv was taking photos/filming of kids swimming at that event Yaniv organised. The police have opened a file on Yaniv.

"this was the All-bodies LGBT+ swim at the Newton Rec Centre on Nov. 10. We were assured that there would be additional security and these kids would be protected and h* would not be allowed to enter. We sent tonnes of letters asking them to cancel as Yaniv was promoting the event and mixing 13 year olds with young adults at a pool party that parents and legal guardians were not permitted to attend."

Frightening to think what could have happened had JY won. In a way, JY actually did "win" against a number of women who backed down because they were too frightened of the social and financial costs of fighting.

SarahTancredi · 14/11/2019 10:02

Shit holy

They made a huge deal of saying they werent even organising it or involved or attending.

Wtf

DriftingLeaves · 14/11/2019 10:09

dances

AFairlyHardAvocado · 14/11/2019 10:18

Thank god. Finally!!

@OhHolyJesus ooh where did you read about that? I hadn't heard but would love to be up to date on it - thank you for sharing.

breakfastpizza · 14/11/2019 11:31

So glad the victims have closure now.

Natsku · 14/11/2019 11:40

I like how pronouns have been avoided completely in that report

SarahTancredi · 14/11/2019 11:48

And it mentions only male genetalia.

Have they finally confirmed that the person doesnt have both as claimed. and that they can get pregnant and mensteuate

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 14/11/2019 11:52

I am looking forward to Pink News reporting on this refusal.

Inebriati · 14/11/2019 12:01

I don't see how he can win, surely a parent has the right to interview a babysitter?

ForeverFaff · 14/11/2019 12:19

Apart from not wanting a strange male watching your kids alone (frankly understandable imo) how about the fact I wouldn't even want a strange man in my house alone with me to even interview him!

ShonaAndTheWaterHorse · 14/11/2019 12:21

I don't see how he can win, surely a parent has the right to interview a babysitter?

He has previously lost a similar claim.

JellySlice · 14/11/2019 17:16

Please remember that JY did not lose this case on the basis that women have the right to refuse to handle male genitalia, or that women have the right to refuse access to their homes to people whom they perceive to be male.

This has not been a victory for, nor a validation of, women's rights.

The judge, in their summing-up (verdict?) specified that JY lost the case purely because the women were not trained to wax male genitals. The judge implied that the women were mistaken in their recognition that the person demanding their services was male, and that, had the wax ing service been for legs or arms, they would have had no right to refuse JY that service.

OhHolyJesus · 14/11/2019 17:44

Hi Fairly I found out through fellow FB friends - look up Sharons Soapbox, she is based in Canada and runs a page a bit like Posie does...or did before she was kicked off. She does stuff on DQST and fellow GC thinkers post about related content. That's how I found out.

CranberriesChoccy · 14/11/2019 18:01

JY targeted the businesses involved solely because JY is a racist pig who wants ethnic minorities to cease existing. JY knew those women wouldn't wax "her" scrotum not because they are transphobic or untrained, but because their culture forbids women to be in such intimate contact with strange men (ie. human adults with penis and testicles).

CranberriesChoccy · 14/11/2019 18:18

@vivariumvivariumsvivaria

I am looking forward to Pink News reporting on this refusal.

JY makes the whole self-id issue look ridiculous and downright dangerous. Any TRA groups should really think hard before defending this. Inclusion without exception. 😊
