Sorry to link to the DM but they've covered Maya Forstater's upcoming court case here:
https://mol.im/a/7683207.

Maya's account of events is here and her post links to updates about the case: https://medium.com/@MForstater/i-lost-my-job-for-speaking-up-about-womens-rights-2af2186ae84

Object has tweeted that Quentin said that nobody is being given puberty blockers by the Tavistock, that it's an invention of the right wing press (!)

That is the easiest fucking thing in the world to show to be a lie.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 18/11/2019 16:42

How does this work? - can the judge only go on things said and presented in court, or are they able to do their own research into the truthfulness / correctness of the evidence?

OvaHere · 18/11/2019 16:44

Object has tweeted that Quentin said that nobody is being given puberty blockers by the Tavistock, that it's an invention of the right wing press (!)

Erm...it's what the Tavistock do. Even they admit it.

FloralBunting · 18/11/2019 16:45

Wait. The argument is that women handing out leaflets discussing their rights is a 'street violence wing'?

I mean... how do you even summon the energy to 'argue' against such a facile pathetic viewpoint? Surely we should just supply everyone with Jammy Dodgers to hand out?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 18/11/2019 16:46

I am finding it hard to follow the tweets (yes I really do need a primary school book where they have a hoto of the speaker next to their word!). Is there the 'dummys guide' to follow anywhere?

Sexnotgender · 18/11/2019 16:47

Ooft, that’s just outrageous lies! In court!!! That can’t be allowed to stand surely.

Datun · 18/11/2019 16:50

Honestly, it's absolutely breathtaking.

I can't wait for the press report this.

Whatisthisfuckery · 18/11/2019 16:51

Isn’t telling lies in a courtroom against the law, or is this another case of not questioning someone else’s reality?

AnotherLass · 18/11/2019 16:51

Unless either I misunderstood Object's tweet, or they didn't reflect what Quentin said accurately...

Sexnotgender · 18/11/2019 16:52

I can't wait for the press report this.

You’re optimistic Grin

OnlyTheTitOfTheIceberg · 18/11/2019 16:53

Object tweet:

"ML [Maya's lawyer, I presume] You tweeted about an event 'I realise the organisers want a token right winger at these events but can't you get a speccy wonk not an anti-trans bigot?'
You were bullying Maya not vice versa."

"Speccy wonk". Well Clair is just a fount of tolerance, isn't Clair?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 18/11/2019 16:53

Isn’t telling lies in a courtroom against the law - well, no. Generally one side is always telling porkies, surely?

MockersthefeMANist · 18/11/2019 16:54

I'm holding out for the stage musical, personally.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 18/11/2019 16:54

'Speccy' - visualist bigot! myobaphobic!

midcenturylegs · 18/11/2019 17:00

I've been looking out for any early evening news stories coming through on this, nothing as yet, but I did find this which I thought was amusing!

www.tr.news/transphobic-or-truth-telling-is-truth-really-hate/

(Have any of us written this?!)

Sexnotgender · 18/11/2019 17:02

Is that a direct quote from Clair’s tweet😱 they sound delightful...

AutumnCrow · 18/11/2019 17:10

I hope any untruths about the about the Tavistock are being challenged.

LangCleg · 18/11/2019 17:13

I'm holding out for the stage musical, personally.

If it riffed on Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, would it be a comedy of manners or a comedy of errors?

Whatisthisfuckery · 18/11/2019 17:15

What is a ‘speccy wonk?’

LangCleg · 18/11/2019 17:17

What is a ‘speccy wonk?’

A journalist who writes for the Spectator about the political economy.

Waterl00 · 18/11/2019 17:21

A wonk is someone who is policy expert and speccy means wearing glasses.

AnotherLass · 18/11/2019 17:23

Are records kept of what is said in court? And can the public access them?

Needmoresleep · 18/11/2019 17:24

A policy nerd who wears glasses,

sort of what Clair might be if they were a man.
