There are two sequel threads on this!

Don't care if it's not boycott related. Still pleased to see it.

As pp says, fuck you upfield. Fuck you in your nasty marge-arse.

BeMoreMagdalen · 15/11/2019 18:28

Tres amusing. FWR members wouldn't shop at Lidl (based on what exactly? The old 'middle class white feminist' bollocks again? How clever.) and let's sneer at a Nestle boycott, because, fuck those third world mums duped into feeding their babies with unsafe water and formula rather than their own breastmilk. What kind of idiot doesn't support that, eh?

Oh, and I notice Field has gone back to bullshit snide comments after attempting to play act as a 'reasonable middle grounder'. Wouldn't like to guess out loud why that is.

Please.

YourOpinionIsNoted · 15/11/2019 18:33

I don't shop at Lidl. Haven't got one near me. O shop at Aldi and Asda instead.

Would love a mooch round the lidl middle aisle though...

Redshoeblueshoe · 15/11/2019 18:37

I shop at Aldi and Lidl.
I can't boycott M&S or JL as I don't shop there.
Am I doing MN wrong ?

YourOpinionIsNoted · 15/11/2019 19:02

Off to nethuns with you, Red.

PurpleDaisies · 15/11/2019 19:06

I can't boycott M&S or JL as I don't shop there.

That’s the easiest way to boycott them!

nevermorelenore · 15/11/2019 19:09

I thought Lidl and aldi were pretty middle class now? They do the best selection of cheeses and gins.

Did anyone ever find out whether Upfield had a base in Uganda? I don’t think I ever saw a response to that from the people who were going to buy lots of Flora just to spite us.

BeMoreMagdalen · 15/11/2019 19:17

To be fair, I tend to think of Aldi as fairly middle class since I knew a couple that raved about the panettone a few years ago because it was so much better than their traditional supplier.

I shop at Iceland and B&M. Bargain soup tins and Brannigans beef and mustard crisps. Make your lips tingle. Marvellous.

Redshoeblueshoe · 15/11/2019 23:05

Aldi middle class ? Surely it depends on where you live.
I have one a mile north and one a mile south, one is WC and the other is MC Confused

NearlyGranny · 16/11/2019 08:25

I've shopped unashamedly at Lidl for lo these many years. The money we saved paid for annual fortnights abroad for our family of 5 for at least a decade. Now we finally have a Waitrose, I shop there, too, but not regularly as it's too far. I can walk to Lidl these days; they opened up nearer. More MC than WC me, I'd say. WC roots + aspirational parents + university = transition.

I think the smart money always shopped selectively at Lidl.

nevermorelenore · 18/11/2019 14:35

It very much depends on the branch when it comes to Lidl or Aldi. If it’s one of the newer stores on a retail park and have a bakery, then mostly middle class shoppers in very nice cars. The pokey town centre ones are old school and have a variety of demographics!

Igneococcus · 18/11/2019 14:40

They do the best selection of cheeses and gins.

Their cheese advent calender sold out in under 24 hours in our shiny newish Lidl :(

artisanparsnips · 18/11/2019 15:17

I did not even know there was a cheese advent calendar and now I have to go to Lidl right now

FloralBunting · 18/11/2019 16:49

Pah. Advent calendars should be flat cardboard with hokey old paintings and a few sprinkles of very cheap glitter glue as highlights on the palm trees and clothing folds. None of this ridiculous 24 windows of random food and drink treats stuff.

BadgertheBodger · 18/11/2019 21:09

Oh shit am I not white feministing right? I’d like to identify as MC but I claim benefits so probs not allowed Sad

Fuck you in your nasty marg-arse is one of the best sentences I’ve ever read Grin

Aw, shucks. Thanks badger Blush

Namechangeforthiscancershit · 18/11/2019 21:28

@feelingverylazytoday I've definitely been boycotting Nestle since waaaay before MN was ever thought of. People keep buying Smarties though. Bastards.

louiseaaa · 18/11/2019 21:38

I started boycotting nestle 27 years ago, before the Internets and everything. I always was a butter girl after my Gran said " who wants to make home-made cakes with stuff made in a factory? - you might as well buy them" (Which was a never-ever-to-be -admitted sin, unless it was a Sunday and you had company.

I admitted to being a butter girl on facebook and apparently I'm oppressing third world cows. And I was unfriended by people, because veganphobic, and animal oppressor in general. Which is funny because I checked in the fridge and my butter says it comes from Dorset from free range organic dairy cows.
