So Ian Wright and some rugby dude (whose name escapes me) will be in the jungle with Caitlyn Jenner!

If Wrighty (who I reckon is as untouchable as Linford) can ask Caitlyn, on camera, what she thinks about transwomen competing in women's sport, I will give myself RSI texting my votes to make him King of the Jungle.

Unless Caitlyn, as a bona fide sporting champion who must understand the importance played by biology in their gold medals, answers truthfully and says of course it's unfair. In which case I'll split my votes between them.

Brilliant! When does this start?
I sometimes watch it but will definitely see if anything interesting comes of CJ being on it.
Imo India Willoughby being on CBB helped people realise what nonsense it all is.

GeordieTerf · 12/11/2019 16:46

I’ve read Caitlyn’s autobiography. At the end, Caitlyn says that they are not a woman. They fully acknowledge that it isn’t possible to change sex. However, they has dysmorphia, and “living as a woman” is how they want to deal with it. Caitlyn states very clearly that they don’t consider themselves to be a natal woman.

LizzieSiddal · 12/11/2019 16:54

I heard CJ on the Today programme, last week. They said trans women competing in women's sport, was a very difficult topic and each trans woman should be treated on a case by case basis. I was quite surprised to hear that from them.

ImaginaryCat · 12/11/2019 16:56

@GeordieTerf if that's the case then this might be the moment for her to share that opinion on national TV, to millions of people who wouldn't necessarily read her book.

I hope she's the one who'll say "no, of course I shouldn't compete in women's sport, I have the physiological advantage of male biology" and boom, back in your box McKinnon.

I'm fairly sure Jenner is of the same opinion on trans athletes as the majority of FWR. Just a feeling.

ImaginaryCat · 12/11/2019 17:36

@BeyondBreakingPoint I think you're right. She probably plays it safe to avoid the bizarre situation of a transwoman being called a transphobe (so ridiculous it makes my brain ache), but it seems like she knows the score only too well.

PeterRouseTheFleshofMankind · 12/11/2019 17:40

She has recently said she thinks it should be on a 'case by case basis'.

MockersthefeMANist · 12/11/2019 17:42

Jenner also said winning was 20% physical and 80% mental.

So all you girls, try harder....

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 12/11/2019 17:47

If CJ acknowledges that CJ is not a woman then isn't he a he? Genuine question.

zanahoria · 12/11/2019 18:01

" Jenner also said winning was 20% physical and 80% mental"

this belief is common among physically gifted athletes, we even had games teachers spouting when it obviously was not true.

Redshoeblueshoe · 12/11/2019 18:20

Jenner also said that the most difficult part of being a woman was deciding what to wear.
I guess that's not a problem in the jungle

Thehagonthehill · 12/11/2019 18:29

She's already done the US version of the show so this shouldn't be much of a challenge.
Should be interesting.

ARoombaOfOnesOwn · 12/11/2019 18:37

Haven’t some of the woke/trans community shunned CJ because CJ supports Trump?

PocketDictionary · 12/11/2019 19:51

Have seen CJ on TV talking about family & saying they still call CJ 'dad' & that's absolutely fine.

GeordieTerf · 12/11/2019 19:53

Caitlyn still fréquents a men-only golf club...

Heh. Who'd have thunk it.

NeurotrashWarrior · 12/11/2019 20:21

If CJ thinks that they're not a woman etc why did they accept various awards such as woman of the year? Validation or because it is pure lime light?

I sometimes can't help thinking half the attraction for some of the famous TW or wannabes is the glam adoration stuff that women get. Eg "breaking the internet" with an arse photo or a certain dress. Not even as agp, just jealousy of the way women are put on pedestals. Which is half the drag attraction.

WineIsMyCarb · 12/11/2019 20:44

There is a good podcast called 'Beyond Today' which is an extension of the Today programme. Interesting interview and chat about same with Jenner.

Creepster · 12/11/2019 20:47

If Jenner asserted the belief they are a woman they would have to relinquish their medals as women do not compete in that sport.

moreturkeyforme · 12/11/2019 20:53

James Haskell is the rugby dude.

Didn't realise that Jenner was also on it.

Could be interesting as Haskell is no wallflower

24 hours in the day and it's a 1 hour (or is it a 90 min?) show. Unless ITV would want to specifically show it to get a Piers Morgan Good Morning Britain reaction and subsequent Twitter debate out of it, along with all the other storylines they have to show each day, I can't see why they would choose to air any conversations like that, in order to protect themselves from hassle.

Although, saying that, I do think the GMB/This Morning angle (for trashy ITV/junk morning schedule/Likes on Twitter, especially) would be too easy for them to resist and they actually would, if Ian/others questioned it and there was a debate around it and Caitlyn agreed with them and got a whole load of articles about it.

CJ supports Trump and PM supports Trump but CJ is trans... the dilemma...

CBA to name change to post this post, I would have done before but now I don't care. Not a feminist (well, I am, but a gay guy supporting women's rights 100%) but I have seen in this past year that it's encroaching on women's rights and I was told I was transphobic for defending it and I, at first, had doubts as to whether I was or not. I said I would never sleep with someone who identified as male but didn't have male genitalia and have now had three "friends" who do not speak to me since because I'm 'transphobic'. Got sent a link to this board and been reading it for awhile and agree with most of the stuff on here. Was also considering Lib Dems as a protest vote this upcming vote but reading the thread on here how they said a man can be a woman because he says it, and the woman who wrote it should just not vote for them anyway, I will now not be. I am behind you all the way. The only thing i would say, in defence of gay guys, is that i've seen a few posts saying gay guys don't like women and don't care, but i have a LOT of gay male friends who feel strongly about this and say they don't want to be going with biological women but equally as much as lesbian women should not go out with biological men if they don't want to and not be forced into it, but they are too scared to say things in real life or even online if there's a name attached because they saw what happened to me and other people on FB and online in general. There are some gay male based boards online where people can post under anonymous names when they cover stories like this, and i'd say 75-80%% comments of the story when the story is trying to be sympathetic, disagree, and say/ask WTF? NO. (I'm not trying to make this a gay male issue btw, I'm just on a tangent) I hope since the LGB alliance that more of us and more lesbian and bi people will join up and be counted again and hear our voices listened to. And I don't for one second mean that as an anti trans thing, because I don't ever want to be considered that, but we need our own and they need their own and hopefully equal support going into both whilst not cancelling out others rights.

One more point, but gay rights fought for were the rights for people of the same sex to marry, adopt, have sex, even... legally exist without getting jailed. Trans rights (Western, or at least UK, I can't say in other countries as I don't know) have never had any of these rights against them (to my knowledge). But "Trans rights are Human Rights" = .... "Right... but what Human Rights do trans people not have? And what rights do trans people want that do not block rights of other humans"?

"I don't agree with homosexuality between two men or two women" - "I don't agree with it, but it happens, so basically, what I mean is, I don't like it." As it has been long proven that men and women can be born and live as gay.

"I don't agree with trans" - "I don't agree with it, but it happens, so basically, what I mean is, I don't like it OR I don't believe people can change sex and if they can, how?" One is bigotry, one is a reasonable question IMO.

I posted this along the lines on FB and it got deleted in minutes.

TL;DR: I agree.
