Julie Bindel piece in the Spectator Blog today:

blogs.spectator.co.uk/2019/11/the-failed-attempt-to-silence-sex-trade-survivor-rachel-moran/

"Gaye Dalton, who was also a prostitute in Dublin’s southside red-light district, one of the spots where Moran was bought and sold, has repeatedly alleged that Moran fabricated her entire life history, and had never even been in prostitution. These extraordinary claims were ruled as, ‘Untrue, offensive and defamatory’ by a judge in Dublin’s Circuit Court today, and Dalton was legally restricted from repeating them."

It appears that Dalton has mental health issues, and may have been used and manipulated herself by people who would benefit from seeing Rachel Moran discredited.

Excellent!

Many moons ago, before we were called 'terfs' from every direction, men used to come on here and say she's made it all up, and link to those lies.

The lengths people will go to discredit women who are against the sex industry... Hmm

Flowers Rachel, if you happen to see this, have followed your story for a long time and so pleased with this outcome, though it shouldn't have come to this for you to have had to go through this in the courts.

Hooray.

Flowers for Rachel.

I don’t know about this - pointers to any background?

BarbaraStrozzi · 12/11/2019 07:43

Rachel Moran was groomed into prostitution as a young teen in care, escaped and wrote a book on her experiences criticising the sex industry industrial rape industry. Dalton spent many years repeatedly claiming that Moran was making it up (claims which, as you can imagine, were mighty useful to the pro prostitution lobby: in the article Bindel mentions having one of her own articles spiked by an editor who worried about rumours that Moran was a fantasist).
Eventually Dalton was found guilty of defamation.

You can register with the Spectator to read a certain number of free articles each month - this one's definitely worth a read.

Oh I picked up a copy of the spectator yesterday but haven’t had a chance to take a look - maybe it’s in there too. Thanks I’ll have a look for it.

I've looked her book up and bought a copy from Amazon.
