Anyone have a share token?

Redshoeblueshoe · 09/11/2019 20:05

Wow they mentioned the thread on here about GC women being refused membership of the LibDems
Do the LibDems not understand how voting works ?
Pissing off women is not a good look

VortexofBloggery · 09/11/2019 20:14

Article also mentions the LibDems bonkers policy of restricting women from joining the party.

BarbaraStrozzi · 09/11/2019 20:23

Fantastic.

Sunlight, sunlight and more sunlight.

The "oops someone hacked my account" excuse is getting a bit old.

CeridwenTheWitch · 09/11/2019 20:24

I find the Libdems response just incredible. I'm almost lost for words. They actively do not women who want to protect our sex based rights to vote for them. I also assume they don't want the votes of men who object to their daughters, wives, mothers and female friends sharing intimate spaces with biological males.

At least they are clear on it. I worry for the future of the country when people like this are trying to get in power. It shows a complete disregard in particular for female survivors of domestic abuse and rape to whom single sex spaces are a lifeline.

It's interesting how they say "we champion everyone’s right to live the life they want." When people say that, they usually follow it up with 'within reason' because clearly people can't go around doing whatever they want because a lot of behaviour is offensive, illegal and antisocial. But it looks like to them they genuinely think, men should be able to do whatever they want, including accessing women's spaces.

Are the Lib Dem’s on glue? They’re chasing transgender votes (

BarbaraStrozzi · 09/11/2019 20:36

Absolutely, Rachel.

I keep thinking of this. Apart from the "binary" choice of American politics, pretty much the whole of the rest of htis could be imported into British politics unchanged.

MindTheMinotaur · 09/11/2019 20:36

But hasn't Aimee been open about being an adult baby fetishist? That doesn't ring any alarm bells about their fiancee in the slightest. Not at all.

Justhadathought · 09/11/2019 20:46

*Are the Lib Dem’s on glue? They’re chasing transgender votes (

BettyRoo · 09/11/2019 20:47

I am glad the LibDems have been clear about their views on women’s same sex rights and protections- it makes my voting choice straightforward.

Is Jo Swinson standing in East Dumbartonshire again? What are the chances of her majority there being overturned by the SNP?

Justhadathought · 09/11/2019 20:48

Why have the Lib Dems acted now, i wonder? They always knew Aimee's back history and welcomed them with open arms.......

Anticipating a scandal I suspect; ahead of a general election. Plenty more skeletons in the Lib-Dem closet, though.....

BarbaraStrozzi · 09/11/2019 20:50

for the Liberals the rabbit hole is liberalism itself - as its first and guiding principle: protecting everyone's right to do as they please.

The most annoying thing is that this is a complete travesty of actual Liberal political philosophy, historically speaking. All the way back to JS Mill and his positive and negative liberties (roughly the "your right to swing your fist ends at the end of my nose" principle).

There is no excuse for any liberal worthy of the name not to acknowledge that rights can come into conflict and that such clashes are the central issue of articulating a coherent liberal political philosophy.

These people bear as much resemblance to genuine political liberalism as Momentum does to genuine Labour party politics within a democratic parliamentary system.

How the fuck did British political life become so intellectually bankrupt?

MindTheMinotaur · 09/11/2019 20:56

Wasn't sure about the adult baby thing so checked kiwi farms. Bloody hell. Go look.

Evenquieterlife33 · 09/11/2019 21:02

@Rachelsfatarse
Yes they are most definitely on glue. Absolutely bat shit crazy and have been for years. They are mental around here.

Evenquieterlife33 · 09/11/2019 21:06

What I don’t get it how the hell did they accept that person in an official post in the first place?? Without any of their family history- although that’s hard to avoid knowing about- but even without it this person has too many red flag issues.

Rachelsfatarse · 09/11/2019 21:23

I’m so pissed off with the Lib Dem’s. I’m a former Labour voter who would never vote Tory. They’re pro Remain and have a female leader, I should be voting for them but I cannot bring myself to do it whilst they actively exclude GC women.

HandsOffMyRights · 09/11/2019 21:32

I'm pleased this article also includes Baroness Featherstone's despicable comments about feminists.

Lumene · 09/11/2019 21:48

A spokesperson for the Liberal Democrats said: “That’s sort of where we’re at. The response we’ve sent back is polite. Our views aren’t aligned with her views.”

FFS. I can’t vote for a party that says if you don’t believe people can actually change sex they don’t want you as a member. That is insane and utterly illiberal.

Would love to vote Lib Dem but am not voting for anti-free speechers

Siameasy · 09/11/2019 22:11

They’ve lost the plot completely
That article was good tho. Laid it out clearly. Dad convicted child sex abuser; boyfriend fantasises about the same.

UpperLowercaseSymbolNumber · 09/11/2019 22:12

I commented on the Times piece via the app but my comment seems to have disappeared Hmm

BarbaraStrozzi · 09/11/2019 22:16

Upper I think there's a glitch on the Times app/website. As far as I can work out, the comments box appears by default below all articles, but news articles (as opposed to comment and opinion pieces) are not actually open for comments. So you write something and it disappears down a cyber black hole. (I wish the Times would fix this so the comment box simply didn't appear below news articles: I think the actual policy is a good one - news reports what's happened, opinion pieces are where people can argue back.)

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 09/11/2019 22:31

I think it’s more that comments on sensitive subjects Are pre-moderated. My own comment says pending.

Great article laying it all out. Go Joanni

missedith01 · 09/11/2019 22:34

This account hacked stuff isn't going to stand up, is it? They sound like the same tweets as were circulated here earlier this year and no-one denied they were genuine then. Unless, there are other, much worse tweets?

drspouse · 09/11/2019 22:35

Just curious, has AC actually met Nathaniel Knight in person? Or is this one of those "we're soul mates because we've chatted all night online" jobs?
