Wouldn't it be great if everyone who hasn't already dug deep could get out their spades and help the LGB Alliance reach their target this weekend? They're close.

Once they've raised enough for an office and a computer and a person to get things started they can begin the job of toppling the transgender / gender edifice for real. Simon Fanshawe and Allison Bailey have already made a great start.

bump

midcenturylegs · 09/11/2019 13:24

I've donated - might be worthwhile posting a link here for those (like me) a little lazy?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 09/11/2019 13:26

If a link is posted the monitors would ensure that the thread gets pulled.

It can easily be found via Google.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 09/11/2019 14:43

It's worth reading the comments on the Just Giving page, they're very moving.

VinandVigour · 09/11/2019 16:01

I have already dug for this cause, but I am so happy that an organisation like this exists that I will dig a little deeper.

ChickenonaMug · 09/11/2019 18:38

It would be great to be able to set up a monthly contributution.

I will fill in a couple of holes this evening both this one and the Susan Evans and Mrs A one.

NotAtMyAge · 09/11/2019 19:18

Thanks for the update. I'd been waiting to hear it was time to get my spade out.

EmpressLesbianInChair · 09/11/2019 19:27

I've dug too.

Lookingsparkly · 09/11/2019 19:31

Thank you for posting this. It reminded me to contribute.

EmpressLesbianInChair · 09/11/2019 20:58

94% and £1,490 to go!

Qcng · 09/11/2019 21:17

Thank you for the reminder.
I also thought LGBA was removed from JustGiving for 'phobia so it's great to see it back up and running.

EmpressLesbianInChair · 09/11/2019 21:20

The homophobes managed to get it removed for a bit, but not for long Grin

AppleJane · 10/11/2019 09:08

It says they plan to launch officially in January 2020. Will be interesting to see what happens.

EmpressLesbianInChair · 10/11/2019 09:10

They’re up to 95% Grin.

zanahoria · 10/11/2019 11:33

I hope it actively encourages members. Stonewall does not even have a membership, a charity controlled by trustees, it represents only them and their corporate donors.

PurpleCrowbar · 10/11/2019 12:37

Another little shovelful from here...

HandsOffMyRights · 10/11/2019 13:30

Thank you for the reminder.

All the 1984 nonsense from Surrey Pride and go makes this extreme agent of T*RF want to dig deeper - in more ways than one.

So thank you.

moofolk · 10/11/2019 14:06

On it now

chilling19 · 10/11/2019 14:22

Small shovel from me

loveyouradvice · 10/11/2019 14:45

Hey hey - we are getting there... bump for more!

UnWilly · 10/11/2019 15:50

A little bit from me

Ohyesthatgc · 10/11/2019 17:42

I would give them some money but there’s just no registed address for them, no registration as a charity or as a company and no leadership, just some twitter page... what’s stopping them from running off with the money or just closing down? (Just look at poise who bright camera equipment and the person who brought a mattress with crowdfunding that was meant for fighting for women’s and children’s rights)

EmpressLesbianInChair · 10/11/2019 17:43

Homophobes on Twitter are making a last-ditch attempt to shut the crowdfunder down. Please report this account for homophobia & if you can, keep digging!

Ohyesthatgc, there's always an element of trust with crowdfunding and if you don't feel confident, don't donate. Hold onto your money until you feel sufficient structures have been put in place to reassure you.
My personal view is that given the track record of the names associated with this project (Simon Fanshawe in particular) I don't have much to worry about, but I am sure they would be just as happy to receive your donation further down the line once they can be clearer about what it will be spent on.

ErrolTheDragon · 10/11/2019 17:56

I would give them some money but there’s just no registed address for them, no registration as a charity or as a company and no leadership, just some twitter page...

My understanding is that they're looking for this relatively modest amount at this point so that they can set up an organisation properly.
