Pink News: it takes a man in drag experiment to reveal harassment of women

I don't know how to react.

Currently wavering between

'Why not just ask AND LISTEN TO 51% of the planet, Pink News?'

Or

'Great idea - focussing men's minds on an issue they've never thought about because it's being experienced and reported by a man'

'He does look nice'

Pink new are deliberately trying to provoke you, just don't read it.

BarbaraStrozzi · 08/11/2019 15:57

Doncha know? A phenomenon isn't real until it happens to real people, aka men.

Joisanofthedales · 08/11/2019 16:02

FFS

CranberriesChoccy · 08/11/2019 16:03

But what was he wearing? Was he "asking for it"? Grin

koshkat · 08/11/2019 16:29

Shon Faye says something sensible for once! Of course Prick News went to SF for a quote because asking a woman would be too fucking sensible.

Trans woman Shon Faye commented: You could just ask half the population.
Other women echoed that sentiment.

Women echoed that sentiment.

JellySlice · 08/11/2019 17:55

Why would they ask women? We've told them, many times - therefore we are shrill, melodramatising nags. It needed to be experienced by a man in order to be accepted by men.

Shon Fae's experience is exactly the same as Antoine's. Upsetting, no doubt, but merely a pale imitation of what women experience, a single layer of women's multifaceted daily lives. But, like Antoine's, Shon's opinions carry more weight than women's opinions.Hmm

Yes. And it stops once he goes back to being a man again. Women don't have the option.

testing987654321 · 08/11/2019 18:58

I bloody well wish I did have that option.

Coyoacan · 08/11/2019 20:47

Whao. It reminds me of an article about an archeological dig in Bolivia. The French archeologists spent six months trying to figure something out until someone had the bright idea of asking the locals.

When is Shon's book coming out?

NotTerfNorCis · 09/11/2019 10:53

Despite some good intentions, the video is being heavily criticised on Twitter, where many people are pointing out that the creators of the campaign could simply have asked women what it is like to be a woman in public places.

Trans woman Shon Faye commented: “You could just ask half the population.”

Other women echoed that sentiment.

Yep, trolling or male supremacy, take your pick.
