I don't think this is any victory against the TRAs. The report I heard said it was deemed to be a problem because it was about throwing bleach at someone. No judgement on women's rights or the value of Joanna Cherry's work.

Which is actually (IMO) as it should be. I think TRA ideology is barking, but it's a legitimate political position. The flaw was not standing on a barking mad political position - do that and let the electorate decide. The flaw was threatening her political opponent with violence.

I could understand a person doing a stupid thoughtless thing, without fully considering what it means. But it was her comments afterwards, which showed no remorse and implied the victim deserved such treatment because she isn't inclusive enough for this woman's liking!
I don't want people in power who, on some level, think it's okay to harm those who disagree with them.

I'm glad they highlighted that it wasn't just the picture but also the word "terf" that was offensive.

Also very pleased to see Johann Lamont, who is standing for Lab in Glasgow South, taking Engender to task over their shocking thread about the Declaration on women's rights which emboldened all the violent misogynists.

The Daily Mail covered this a few days ago. I quite like their definition of TERF :

"Frances Hoole, who was selected for Edinburgh South West, was accused of posting a threatening tweet aimed at her rival, the SNP's Joanna Cherry.

The tweet had the slogan 'bang and the Terf [trans-exclusionary radical feminist] is gone'.

The term Terf is used to insult equality campaigners who do not agree that transgender rights take precedence over women's rights."

The Daily Mail stands up for women, yet again.

There’s a sentence I never thought I’d say.
